Yes, that really did happen. S01E03. I'm still not sure who to be jealous of here ;)
Bloody props game. That one usually propels the weirdness to a whole 'nother level, let me tell you.
Also, seven episodes before that, you can see that very same Mr. Fry dropping his pants.
Ah, where would RPS comedy be without WLiiA?
Actually, I think I don't want to know XD

Hell, that man is such a genious <3
Can't wait to get to the part containing the two German sentences *snickers*

As requested: Some comments on DH. Sorted by topic, otherwise pretty stupid and random. Beware: Severe spoilers for the whole book! )

Whoo, this turned out slightly longer than I thought. Well, who cares? =) *starts working on newspaper article, waiting for people to contradict her review* ^_~

BTW, the German title for the book has been set. It will be called "Harry Potter und die Heiligtümer des Todes" (it had been mistranslated before because nobody was sure whether the 'hallows' were supposed to be people or things. Well, now we know ^_~) and it will be released on October 27. Poor translator. He was only allowed to start after the book had been released. Someone's got a heckload of work ahead of him now O_o

Yesterday and today I watched both parts of Stephen Fry's "The Secret Life Of The Manic Depressive".
I think I've never seen a documentary that managed to build up a lot of credibility and be so very touching at the same time.
Watch it.
There's two torrents, the one here is the one I got (huge files, I gotta admit, but the quality is insanely good), this one is a bit smaller but requires you to register with the tracker, which should be neither difficult nor dangerous.

Next up: (once I get 'em) Jesus Camp (No way I'm gonna miss that one!), Michael Palin's travelling series (apart from Sahara, which I happen to own on DVD). Also: Fawlty Towers since the only two versions I've seen are the German dub and the German remake (Yep, there was such a thing).

ETA: Eeeee!!! TheBox has the unaired Qi pilot episode! Too bad those fucktards banned BitComet, but hey - that's why I have µTorrent as a secondary BT client just in case ^_^
1. Do you download music not from the popular genres of Top 40, pop, rock, rap, dance, R&B, or country?
I guess most of my music - downloaded or not - is from non-popular genres, and I'm pretty happy about that, thankyouverymuch XD

2. Are there any musicians for whom you've downloaded a significant amount of their material yet own few or none of their albums?
Certainly.

3. Have you ever enjoyed a downloaded album so much that you went and bought the physical album?
Sure. One of my favourite examples is an album called "Hellfire Club" by some German band called Edguy.

4. How many different ways of playing music do you own (such as radio, stereo system, computer, Walkman/Discman, mp3 player, mp3-ready phone, etc.)?
Computer, laptop, two mp3 players, phone. I don't own a stereo any more ;)

5. Do you still have and/or play a favorite vinyl album, cassette tape, or 8-track tape?
Nope.

Aaand some old ones! )

Whew. I think that was enough FF to last me a lifetime. Or, maybe, not ^_~

Goddammit, why isn't it September yet? Wanna see the new shows... wanna seeee...

According to Wikipedia, the themes for the first eleven episides of the "E" season are:
Electricity
Exploration
Endings
Engineering
England
Europe
Eating
Eyes and ears
Espionage
Everything
Entertainment

I wonder whether the "James Bond thinks homosexuals can't whistle" thing might get a comeback in the espionage episode...
Oh dear... I think I watched a bit too much of that suff X_x

This article however, did surprise me a fair bit. I mean, Michael Palin as Qi host? Naah...

The pic of Stephen and Alan on the BBC site is just too adorable <3
Too bad that he apparently cut his hair again. Aw man ;_;

And then, I clicked on one of the streams on the right and the popup went "We're sorry. The content you requested is available for UK users only.".
Good job, BBC. Shutting out international viewers, eh? Nice. Not :|
German television has been buying your goddamned documentaries for ages. Is that how you thank us? T_T
Also, their help page is a dead link. Ow.

PS: I love my headdesk!Stephen icon ^___^
One. Two.
Alan recorded this with his cellphone camera. OMFG. I love that man ♥ ♥ ♥
Can't wait for the season to start ^_^

...
I wonder who that user is. Notaperm? Somehow, I doubt someone else stole the vid from Alan's phone. So that leaves... eek O___O

It seems they finally shipped my copy of "Making History".
Almost a month after my order.
Woohoo.
*kicks buecher.de again, just because*

Stephen is the second most influential gay in Britain

[via Stephen Fry forum]

Cool, ne?

Also, my copy of Making History seems to have evaporated. The idiots at buecher.de said it'd take a few days to get it ready for shipping. That was on April 24. Since then, utter silence.
Well, at least I've got The Hippopotamus and The Liar to keep me company until then ;)
Also, that remidned me why the only two reasons to shop at buecher.de instead of amazon are:
- buecher.de sent me a gift certificate
- the thing I'm looking for isn't available at amazon
Well, this experience won't change anything about that policy =_=

ETA: After I've finished with the Fry novels, I'll probably tackle those. And then, it's Discworld.
Someone just bought three books.
Three.
And yes, one of them is das Meisterwerk :D
For some odd reason, the others are by the same author O_o

*needs to read more* ^_^;;;
(Just because...)

Today
- go out and buy coke and mineral water
- PotC 2 at 8 PM (Could've started earlier but mum and me don't want to miss our current favourite show on German TV)

Somewhere between today and Sudnay
- getting my hair re-dyed (I look like a goddamn red-blonde zebra right now =_=)
- playing more of The Bard's Tale

Saturday
- lunch@Xmas fair with the family
- Borat (subtitled!) at 10 PM (with mum and bro)

Sunday
- lunch@granny's
- [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi will arrive at our place in the afternoon
- early evening: presents! (Those of you who didn't know yet: We Germans get them on the evening of the 24th)
- four-course dinner made by mum (I have the menu list and might have a go at translating it later)

Monday
- lunch at home
- off to [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis and having a great time there
- coming back on a yet undecided date in early January

'nother random Qi quote:
(Question: What is the loudest thing in the ocean?")
Phil Kay: "Must it not be the sea itself?"
Stephen: "Ahhhhhhh....... no."

That episode also had a classical UK/US misunderstanding between Stephen and Moe Rich Hall. Rich said his aunt was struck by a lightning and Stephen thought he meant his ant ^_^;;; Somehow, it's kinda weird to actually see something like this happen.

BTW, Stephen came sixth in the BBC Living Icons poll. Not bad considering he had to compete against Sir David Attenborough, Paul Mc Cartney and David Bowie!

It's called "Arsegravy".
Its pairing is Stephen Fry/Hugh Laurie.
It's very short but pretty hilarious.
It's Here.

I was only going to show off the new icon I just made.
But then I saw this nice meme at [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrdes. So now you get both.
The Stephen Fry Edition of "*headdesk*" (from QI of course and I think this icon is quite interesting *ROFL*) and me answering a heap of questions.
Uh... yay?
