Rob Brydon and Ben Miller

Can you guess how this goes on?

O.O )

Y'know, I can't stop thinking... Those two might actually be an interesting pairing, what with them looking alike and constantly being confused and all that. Too bad you can't really find out that much about them outisde the UK. Also, I wouldn't dare trying anyway ;)
Damn, this season of Qi is getting better and better^_^
Apparently, today's the Day of the Smile
Even though I'm having a bit of a low today - have a happeh:

Fave Stephen quote from this week's QI:
"He was a French writer trying to make a point, and therefore a git."
*lol*

But Alan as a salamander was adorable, too <3
So, Phil Jupitus was the first person to use "LOL" on Qi.
It took nearly four and a half seasons, but as you can imagine, the audience went absolutely crazy.
Also, Stephen, the uber geek answered "OMG" <3
*dies very happily indeed*

Seen at [livejournal.com profile] sorion's:

Your Word is "Why"

You see life as complicated and intriguing. The only thing you know for sure is that you haven't figured it all out yet.

You question everything and believe very little. And whatever you believe is likely to change.

You are interested in theories, philosophies, and religions... even if you don't buy into any of them.

You are also fascinated by how things work. You'd like to understand as much in the world as possible.

Wow, that's actually pretty accurate... O_o

The fifth series of Qi is finally starting tonight.
I mean, I'm glad they moved to BBC One since it's a great proof of how popular the show has become.
Still, waiting an extra couple of months sucked.
I just watched the Christmas Special and it was awesome :D

So, Qi will be moved to BBC One after all. It sure is a good thing, but that also means we'll ahve to wait until 2009 to see the new series ;_;

Also, I'm just watching my trusty AVGN playlist (all 56 episodes in chronological order) and this one Zelda joke is so stupid, I just have to post it:
Q: What did Zelda tell Link when he couldn't unlock the door?
A: Triforce.

XDDDD

About three hours left on my eBay auctions and it's still looking really good ^_^

"Futurama - Day of the Tentacle" is not out yet, but I've found a DVD rip. Might as well check it out, no? Can't wait to hear Kif again :>

Like reported on my German blog, the new seasons of House and Heroes are set to start airing on September 16 and22, respectively.
As for QI, there's been no word on a specific airdate for episode 1 of series E yet. Meh.

I mainly compiled this lil' list for personal use, but I thought some of you might like it, too. So, here goes:

Heroes (season 2) September 24

Stargate Atlantis (season 4) September 25

House (season 4) September 25

Qi (series E) September 21

Well, I guess it's time to warm up those BT clients and clear some HDD space, for the summer is over and our heroes will be back very soon ^__^

Oh! "Who wants to be a Superhero?" season 2 finale in two days. Can't wait =)

And finally, expect pictures of my Doctor Who toys to arrive tomorrow. [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi and me had an awesome unpacking and tryout session this evening. And to be honest, more stuff was ordered as well, because my dear fiance just couldn't resist that black remote control Dalek. Bless him <3

Wow

( Jun. 30th, 2007 03:15 pm)
Yesterday and today I watched both parts of Stephen Fry's "The Secret Life Of The Manic Depressive".
I think I've never seen a documentary that managed to build up a lot of credibility and be so very touching at the same time.
Watch it.
There's two torrents, the one here is the one I got (huge files, I gotta admit, but the quality is insanely good), this one is a bit smaller but requires you to register with the tracker, which should be neither difficult nor dangerous.

Next up: (once I get 'em) Jesus Camp (No way I'm gonna miss that one!), Michael Palin's travelling series (apart from Sahara, which I happen to own on DVD). Also: Fawlty Towers since the only two versions I've seen are the German dub and the German remake (Yep, there was such a thing).

ETA: Eeeee!!! TheBox has the unaired Qi pilot episode! Too bad those fucktards banned BitComet, but hey - that's why I have µTorrent as a secondary BT client just in case ^_^

Goddammit, why isn't it September yet? Wanna see the new shows... wanna seeee...

According to Wikipedia, the themes for the first eleven episides of the "E" season are:
Electricity
Exploration
Endings
Engineering
England
Europe
Eating
Eyes and ears
Espionage
Everything
Entertainment

I wonder whether the "James Bond thinks homosexuals can't whistle" thing might get a comeback in the espionage episode...
Oh dear... I think I watched a bit too much of that suff X_x

This article however, did surprise me a fair bit. I mean, Michael Palin as Qi host? Naah...

The pic of Stephen and Alan on the BBC site is just too adorable <3
Too bad that he apparently cut his hair again. Aw man ;_;

And then, I clicked on one of the streams on the right and the popup went "We're sorry. The content you requested is available for UK users only.".
Good job, BBC. Shutting out international viewers, eh? Nice. Not :|
German television has been buying your goddamned documentaries for ages. Is that how you thank us? T_T
Also, their help page is a dead link. Ow.

PS: I love my headdesk!Stephen icon ^___^
One. Two.
Alan recorded this with his cellphone camera. OMFG. I love that man ♥ ♥ ♥
Can't wait for the season to start ^_^

...
I wonder who that user is. Notaperm? Somehow, I doubt someone else stole the vid from Alan's phone. So that leaves... eek O___O

Oh... and it has the "Normal - for Norfolk" anecdote from QI!! Eeeeee :D

My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is:

Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title

Aaaaand some more:

Her Noble Excellency Jessy the Philomath of Withering by the Wold

Countess Jessy the Convincing of Wallop upon Deane

Her Most Serene Highness Lady Jessy the Possible of Colquhoun St Cahoon

Baroness Jessy the Prohibited of Waterless St Mildred

Entirely Miss Reverend Lady Jessy the Bovine of Praze-an-Beeble

Countess Jessy the Confused of Colquhoun St Cahoon

--------------------------------

Ha!
So I wasn't the only one who noticed that ;)
(Just because...)

Today
- go out and buy coke and mineral water
- PotC 2 at 8 PM (Could've started earlier but mum and me don't want to miss our current favourite show on German TV)

Somewhere between today and Sudnay
- getting my hair re-dyed (I look like a goddamn red-blonde zebra right now =_=)
- playing more of The Bard's Tale

Saturday
- lunch@Xmas fair with the family
- Borat (subtitled!) at 10 PM (with mum and bro)

Sunday
- lunch@granny's
- [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi will arrive at our place in the afternoon
- early evening: presents! (Those of you who didn't know yet: We Germans get them on the evening of the 24th)
- four-course dinner made by mum (I have the menu list and might have a go at translating it later)

Monday
- lunch at home
- off to [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis and having a great time there
- coming back on a yet undecided date in early January

'nother random Qi quote:
(Question: What is the loudest thing in the ocean?")
Phil Kay: "Must it not be the sea itself?"
Stephen: "Ahhhhhhh....... no."

That episode also had a classical UK/US misunderstanding between Stephen and Moe Rich Hall. Rich said his aunt was struck by a lightning and Stephen thought he meant his ant ^_^;;; Somehow, it's kinda weird to actually see something like this happen.

BTW, Stephen came sixth in the BBC Living Icons poll. Not bad considering he had to compete against Sir David Attenborough, Paul Mc Cartney and David Bowie!

Isn't it scary to watch an episode of Qi and manwhile finding out that one of the people on the panel is already dead?

Tonight, I suddenly remembered that I have a spare HDD lying around.
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi's network connector which provides the IDE connector and power supply, I was able to put the HDD inside the console.
Now I have a very heavy PS2 and no idea what to do with it =_=

Holy hell, I'm running out of DVD+Rs again O_O

Apart from that, I'm about to learn every Qi episode by heart. The swazzle thing at the beginning of 3x11 had me crying with laughter ;)

Here, have two random quotes:
Stephen Fry: "What do you get if you cross a camel with a leopard?"
Jo Brand: "A fireside rug you can have a good hump on. Sorry"

--------------------------------

Stephen Fry (about Caesar): "Vain is the word. His dying words were 'What an artist dies in me'."
Alan Davies: "Was there someone in him at the time?"
Qi 3x05

€dit: Look at that. After almost a week, my Windows firewall is giving me trouble as well. It somehow forgot that I disabled it and keeps asking me whether it should block applications from accessing the net. And when I check the setting, it's still disabled. Stoopid thing. Maybe it read what [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde wrote about hers X_x
Today, I showed mum the beginning of an episode of Qi. What? She asked for it! And then, she was upset about not getting anything. Er... the hell was she expecting??
She laughed about the buzzers, though ;)
Ah crap, only eight episodes left ;_;

BTW, I noticed that one episode of The Daily Show is only about 175 MB in size. That amount of data takes me about an hour to download. Which means that I'll be able to follow the show with a delay of one day only. Hail to BT :D

I really wanted to watch the joint Daily Show/Colbert Report episode from November 7, the thing they called Midterm Midtacular (*lol*).
That file was a bit bigger but I eventually got it. The show was really interesting and cool.
And that conversation in the middle... Well, I'll put it like this: If Jon/Stephen slash (Which idiot started calling that Stewbert, anyway? *is appalled*) hadn't existed before November 7, that skit certainly would've created it ALL ^_~

Heh.
Jon's such a beast. But he's so bloody charming as well. And he's got such a goofy, silly laugh. That man is just gorgeous *dreamy eyes*
On the other hand, Stephen Colbert is ten times more beast than Jon could ever be. So that one RPS fic where Stephen was abusing Jon really made quite a lot of sense, actually O_o

Dr. Gregory House

75% Eccentricity, 50% Confidence, 40% Kindness

Congratulations, you're the man himself, Dr. Gregory House! You're quite strange, and usually do your own thing regardless of what anyone else thinks. This is partially because a person with an ego as large as yours could not care less what anyone else thinks or feels about anything. Unless, of course, they're your patient and they're dying--but only if they're dying of something interesting! You're a definite asshole to most other people, but at least you know how to be one in style, with an awesome wit, comfortable sneakers, and a never ending variety of facial expressions.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

I just nearly had an orgasm right there. Both QI 4x08 and 4x09 up on Demonoid. And I think 4x08 is the charity one... woah *faints*

Er...
I'll be back with news and replies to flist tomorrow. Right now, I still need to adjust to the situation of being in charge of someone else's apartment, complete with four computers, kitchen'n'fridge'n'food, giant entertainment system and two cats. So far, it's nice =)

But then I saw this nice meme at [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrdes. So now you get both.
The Stephen Fry Edition of "*headdesk*" (from QI of course and I think this icon is quite interesting *ROFL*) and me answering a heap of questions.
Uh... yay?
