I was just re-reading old entries when I stumbled upon this, written on January 1st, 2008. It's about Kai dubbing Nigel Marven in "Prehistoric Park".
My favourite scene so far [...] was the one in episode 5 where Nigel visits the prehistoric woods and, in a hushed voice, calls them "magic forest". I'm not sure if I've ever heard Kai #2 using the "totally in awe" mode of speaking before, but needless to say, I died.

Well, more than two and a half years later I can say that I have heard him using that hushed way of speaking several times.
... mainly when saying goodbye to me on the phone... ^_^;;;
Just saying *beams*

Looking back at what happened until today, it's almost impossible to believe.
I mean, we met half a dozen times, I slept in his house, we explored Munich, did the live audio play together (or at least that's what I like to think), we watched movies for hours and he showed me his studio and other music stuff and cooked awesome meals for me, he got me my first translating job and I actually got paid for it just yesterday, the first week here when I didn't have internet yet he seemed to be worried and called me so often I was amazed he always plays along with me weird nerdy antics and after a while even started using netspeak himself, and so on.
Really, I know I' not one who gets lucky with stuff on a regular basis, but Kai is one of the few things that just happened to me and changed my life into something better, happier and much more worthwhile.

Thanks, baby.
You mean the world to me, y'know?

Today was a wonderful day.
I haven't been this happy in... forever.

First, I spent hours (literally) just browsing appartment offers, without even seriously considering anything yet. I just wanted to see whether the situation in Essen is similar to the one in Duisburg, meaning tons of small flats at almost laughtable prices. And, wuldn't you know it, it's almost better than here! I guess chances for me to actually find something are good. No idea whether anyone will even give me a rent contract to sign since I can't get a job before I moved there (it's too far to commute without the "unlimited free rides ticket" from uni) and some of the landlords do want proof of a regular income before even considering you. Damn, that's gonna be complicated. Still, I know what to look for and it seems I think of stuff to do/find out about before [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi. Actually, I asked him not to help me with this at all because, y'know, it's purely my business and I want to get this done by myself.

I downloaded a comp of this for Kai and sent it to him today. Gotta say, he was really happy about that little surprise. Ah, I love giving rpesents to the people I love <3
BTW, at the enws of me moving out, he sounded almost as excited as me. Bless him ^^

We watched Wall-E tonight. Oh my god, if this isn't the cutest thing in the history of movies, I dunno what is. And the short film "Presto" make me laugh so hard I nearly chocked ^_^;;;

Finally:

You Are FAQ

For you, the internet is like your personal library. And you know more facts than fifty normal humans.

Your brain is basically lot a computer at this point. You have a lot of information stored up there.

You spend hours looking up obscure information and learning things. If you have question, you always Google it.

You can't help but be a bit of a know-it-all. You can answer everyone's frequently asked questions.

Yep, I agree ;)

Yay yay yay!!!
Now I know what I'll be wearing at the Spring Heeled Jack audio play performance next Saturday: This.
Hot damn, that shirt is SO SMEXY :D~~~
It's got studs and things, and the sleeves are partly open. Guuhhhh...
Actually, I've seen the exact same shirt on eBay before but didn't bid on it because there were far too many people after it.
But this time, it was on 2€ and I bid 3€ during the last ten seconds, which scored me the victory over this awesome shirt at the price of juuust 5€ (less than three Dollars), shipping included.
Can't wait to get it, and I expect that to happen rather soon since I paid it with PayPal.
Anyway. Great bargain there, and I also have ten auctions running for shit I don't use that'll hopefully give me some more moolah.
Now, I can calm down and get to my NaNo duty for today ^_^

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagis PS2 auction ended last night at 7. The final price was an astounding 351,99€, which even surprised me who had been very much optimistic about the whole thing. However, [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi was utterly taken aback. He'd told me he'd be happy with getting 140 Euros when the price was at that level the day before. Well, I thought it'd be about 200 Euros, maybe a bit more. But 350? Madness.

Our phone started ringing mere seconds after the auction had ended. Of course, it was mum who had watched the thing happen, the sneaky thing *lol*
However, like always, she didn't miss her chance of diminishing our feelings of victory. "Selling off your entire household now, are you?", that's what she said. Yeah, sure. Because game systems and games we don't play are totally vital items of survival. Gee... =_=

Also, my auction is live now. See it here. I got the first watcher within the first three minutes, there's three of 'em right now, but no bids so far. Still, looking good. And hey, I got the better games, so hopefully, people will be drawn to that rather than my old-ish console XD

We also re-added some of the cables. Check here to take a look at 'em.

On the "buying" side, I'm waiting for answers concerning two Nightmare before Christmas-related thingies. I sued the "best offer" option on both of them but heven't heard back from the sellers yet.
The first one is just a small set of buttons. The other one is this.
Huge (18" / 46 cm!), new, sealed plushy Jack Skellington. OMG look at him! He. Is. So. Adorable. WANT.
I offered 20 Euros, which is not exactly realistic, but I hope she'll offer to lower the initial price by two Euros or something. Pls?
Actually, I'll take him, no matter what the suggested price will be. He usually goes for more, so it's still a bargain.

I also found this guy selling Doctor Who buttons with free international shipping.
Yeah, I know, I swore I'd never use PayPal again (BTW, that is the real reason for wanting to get a credit card - avoiding the big bad PP). But... eh. Gotta think about it.

If things go on on like this, Windows XP might fly outta the window (haha XD) very soon O_O
Translation: Windows Vista is gorgeous. I absolutely adore it.
Long and detailed post (with screenshots) will follow later.

I just nearly had an orgasm right there. Both QI 4x08 and 4x09 up on Demonoid. And I think 4x08 is the charity one... woah *faints*

Er...
I'll be back with news and replies to flist tomorrow. Right now, I still need to adjust to the situation of being in charge of someone else's apartment, complete with four computers, kitchen'n'fridge'n'food, giant entertainment system and two cats. So far, it's nice =)
I'm currently in the middle of that.
Well, I doubt anyone noticed but I actually deleted my current layout to sorta force myself to get a new one done. And it seems like it's working, ehe XD
The one I'm working on right now has the version number 6.3 (Yes, I discarded THREE layouts before I started on this one).

Somehow, I'm managing to get things working I never would've believed possible.
The picture I selected looks great and I somehow managed to incorporate it into the layout.
It's also got very little different colours, and I like that. I mean, what's worse than those eye cancer inducing pages where every line of thext gets a new flashy colour? I really prefer concentrating on two or three colours only and that also makes the decision about the menu colours easier. No to mention aesthetics and stuff like that. So this one will be simple, yet stylish. But you'll see what I mean once I get it done ;)
The repeating background for the text box using tables and CSS works great (Does anyone remember my Tobi cowboy LJ layout? The new one is roughly - very roughly -based on that). Okay, I managed to break the thing once but that was not a problem since I make backups of every step in my work.
I even managed to put the menu ON TOP of my main header pic. Yay for the "z-index" command. I think this is one of my first layouts where it really comes in handy *nod nod*
Oh, and I made a matching "under construction" pic cuz I won't be able to finish all of the sections before I put the thing online.
My next task will be the sub-navigation. And I already have a good idea for that one, too.

Finally, on a semi-related note:
One of the most helpful Firefox extensions I ever discovered is certainly IE Tab.
It's basically an embedded IE engine that enables you to switch between the Gecko (Firefox) and Chrome (IE) engines at the click of a button and the site reloads automatically. That way, you can always make sure that the layout you're working on will look decent in both browsers. Lovely and a must get for every web designer even if you're such a hopeless amateur as I am ^_~

And BTW, the new layout will be compatible with Firefox and IE (tho like every good geek, I recommend Firefox XD). The resolutions required start at 800x600 but I actually recommend 1280x1024 because the main header is pretty large. Wow, this is gonna be a luxury web page ^_^

( Sep. 7th, 2006 05:55 pm)
Got a new sheet of TANs.
I walked right into the bank and asked where my order got stuck.
Well, the (admittedly, quite cute) bank guy was all "OMFG, we never got any of your orders and I like, have NO IDEA what went wrong"
And then, he gave me a new sheet and activated it right away.
Wheee~!
^_^

I already sent some moolah to my PayPal account since my extra userpics will expire in a couple of weeks.

Apart from that, I watched the Wacken documentary which was awesome (old grannies waiting for the Metal people to arrive cuz they're so NICE ^^) and positive (They clearly stated that we are NOT violent AT ALL) and just so terribly heart-warming in general. Awww <3
Sorry, I said I won't spam you anymore, but...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*pants*

Okay, the story from the very beginning.
A quarter of an hour before I suddenly remembered that while mum is away nobody checks the mail. So I went out to do so.
And what did I see lying around on the newspaper box?
A package. From amazon.com. Which, of course, I never ordered. Because I cannot order from them as I don't own a credit card.
So what the hell WAS THIS?
Well, something inside told me I knew what it was, especially when I noticed the size and something about it containing DVDs written on top of it.
Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut at that one that meme? ;)

Well, to make a long story short, I finally managet to tear the packaging apart and out came...

House Season Two!!

And it had a sheet containing mine and [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrdes addresses and a note saying "Happy Birthday, Jessy".

Holy fucking fuck.
*rolls around on the floor, squealing like mad*

Thank you SO MUCH, dear [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde! I love you!!! Seriously!!!
As soon as I get the chance, I'm SO gonna get down to Seattle and hug you to death :D

*very happy bunny indeed*
