Finally, here they are.
Quality is not too brilliant (cellphone cam, y'know), but it's more than enough to see what they are ^_^

10 pics, 224 KB altogether )

Okay, that was it. For now ^_~
Expect pictures of a black RC Dalek, a Cyberman, a tiny radio controlled K-9 and a five-inch figure of Ten in a few days!
I mainly compiled this lil' list for personal use, but I thought some of you might like it, too. So, here goes:

Heroes (season 2) September 24

Stargate Atlantis (season 4) September 25

House (season 4) September 25

Qi (series E) September 21

Well, I guess it's time to warm up those BT clients and clear some HDD space, for the summer is over and our heroes will be back very soon ^__^

Oh! "Who wants to be a Superhero?" season 2 finale in two days. Can't wait =)

And finally, expect pictures of my Doctor Who toys to arrive tomorrow. [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi and me had an awesome unpacking and tryout session this evening. And to be honest, more stuff was ordered as well, because my dear fiance just couldn't resist that black remote control Dalek. Bless him <3

Right now, we're selling one of our PS2s on eBay. It's here. It's also got the SingStar stuff, the dance mats and three (!) cheating devices. OMG. Huge package, huh?
The other one (mine) plus another 25 games will go on sale the moment the first auction ends (Sunday at 7 PM). It doesn't have that many extras, but the games are slightly better.
Hopefully, we'll get good prices for all that stuff. [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi wants to buy new PS3 games (and his beloved Dalek) and me... I'll prolly grab some clothes, maybe the HDD I've been wanting for ages. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed, 'kay? ^_^

I also borrowed [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis credit card and ordered a bit of Doctor Who merch at amazon UK.
The stuff has been shipped today and should arrive at the end of the week.
I won't be telling you what it is until I got it. However, I give you a hint: It's two gadgets and one figure, and no, no Doctor among it. There's hardly any of them available online anyway.
Anywho. Will post pics once I got the stuff :D

Getting back to the "converted [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi to Doctor Who" topic... I'm still a wee bit surprised I got him that easily. During the episode, he was like "Awesome" and "The Dalek rocks" a couple of times. Cool *beams*
But then, the thing is done in a way that it has to attract anyone who has even a vague interest in scifi and dramatic stuff. Just... powerful. Yeah.
Well, I guess I have to thank the actors and especially the writers. The job they did on the new series is just too amazing.
Russell T Davies is my absolute hero <3

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi bought "Warhawk" last week. It's sort of a first-person shooter, but with additional features, like being able to drive any vehicle and fly any ship standing around. Plus, with PS3 graphics, it looks really good. He's been playing it quite a lot because he could hardly do anything against the more experienced gamers. He's getting quite good, too bad the console seems to be pretty sensitive when it comes to (natural) instabilities of the DSL line :(

Visiting goth stores tends to be rather frustrating if you happen to have more than skin on your bones -_-
I swear, if my IT career fails, I'm gonna open up a chain of alternative shops for normal-sized people.
Heck, I'm not even that extraordinarily fat, I'm just somewhat above average. But I couldn't find a single piece of clothing in there if my life depended on it.
Goddammit.

However, I got a new wallet. One with a chain, I always wanted one of these. Otherwise, it's nothin' fancy, just black with white skull'n'crossbones. Oh, and it was 3.50 Euros. Awesome ^_^

Also, if the conductors are planning to go on strike next week, I'll have a fit. Right now, it's not looking like it, but the possibility's definately there.
So I knocked myself out with Tim Burton movies yesterday. First, I re-watched "Corpse Bride", and then I saw its predecessor (not really, but y'know) for the first time in about ten years.

I gotta say I remembered quite a lot from back when I watched the movie in German.
But now I'm starting to despise the dub, especially because Sally was apparenty voiced by Nina Hagen. Holy... I mean... What were they thinking? Casting a loud, stupid, crazy (in the bad way), deluded and obnoxious hag like her (Can you tell how I don't really like her? XDD) to play such a sweet character? And I'm sure they've redone the choir bits with like, four people. Because it's cheaper. Ugh. Ths country's entertainment industry is rotten to the core, with only a few notable exceptions.

Anyway. Nightmare.
It combines two of my favourite things - Gothic/horror stuff and Christmas.
Needless to say, I'd love it even if it wasn't such a wonderful, artsy movie that leaves a huge impact as only very few other film can ^_~

But my favourite aspect of the thing remains...
Danny Elfman. What a singer... what a voice *swoons*
He was great as Bonejangles in "Corpse Bride" and he's an awesome composer. But doing all that marvelous singing for Jack just killed me. Ded.
<3 <3 <3

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi hasn't seen it yet. Might force him to when it's the season. Though, by then, I'm sure I'll know it word by word ;) Also, I'm worried about the musical aspects. There were only four songs in "Corpse Bride", but here, most dialoge is sung. And I have a certain suspicion that he won't like that all that much O_o

I want a new purse. The old one is boring and butt-ugly. Most purses are leather (bleh), plastic (no way) or some fabric. However, I'd prefer soemthing unusual. What about this? Yep, it's plush ^_^

As many of you should know, I've been dying my hair red for a couple of years. To be exact, I've been doing it since December 2001.

I've always had somewhat thin hair compared to some girls I knew. Needless to say, it was pretty frustrating, and adding my boring natural hair colour didn't make it better.
So, I went red and stayed there.
But during the last, say one and a half years, things have constantly been getting worse. Mind you, I don't think I'm in any danger of getting bald, but it's certainly noticeable, especially because I usually wear the damn things in a ponytail (NO comments about bangs, [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams, 'kay? ^_~).
I need to change something since I don't wanna be stuck with either no hair or my stupid natural mid-blonde hair colour. However, it it seems that all chemical dyes are equally bad, no matter what brand or colour (Well, apart from blonde which must be deadly, but anyways). It's the damn ammoniac, I guess =_=

To be honest, I've been pretty desperate about this. Until today, when I finally remembered something that happened to me about two years ago.
Y'see, I was on my way home from [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis, and on the train, I met this nice, elderly lady.
She offered me some of her cherries (<3) and praised my hair. And she also suggested using henna instead of chemical dye because it's not dangerous.
Hell, why haven't I thought of that before?
Back then, I barely registered her comment, but right now, I'm entriely prepared to have a go at it.
I found some powder-y products that appear to make your hair really blindingly red. My natural hair colour is mid-blonde, so it won't be carrot-coloured afterwards (duh), but hopefully, still bright enough.
There's this brand called "Henna Plus Colour Powder". It comes in several coulous, one of them being "Super Red". That SO sounds like the right shtuff for me *snicker*

I've also been thinking about going black for some time. But I s'ppose it just wouldn't be me. Naah...
There seems to be a shortage of Discworkd novels. And ironically, that only seems to concern "The Clour of Magic". Which is a bit unfortunate for someone who wants to start the series from the beginning. Well, I now ordered it from BOL instead of amazon or buecher.de. Bugger costs me more than nine Euros. Ah well, at least I know that it's go0od so I won't be grumpy about spending money for nothing ;)

ETA: However, amazon seems to have most of the others on stock, and at a good price, too. That's good because I'll sure want more after reading TCoM ^_^

ETA #2: I also looked up bus information to uni. It's about 45 minutes non-stop. Lovely! I even checked the current food selection at the canteen. Can you say cheap, varied and delicious sounding? Hold damn, I can't wait to get there. I'm still so happy I could cry for hours.

ETA #3: PotC 3 tomorrow night. Yeah, baby :DDDD

ETA# 45427839157: Since [livejournal.com profile] mirmingi has been talking about it over and over, I decided to have a go at "Heroes". We really need something to fill that sad, endless gap the break of SG-A has created ;)

It seems they finally shipped my copy of "Making History".
Almost a month after my order.
Woohoo.
*kicks buecher.de again, just because*

Cool, ne?

Also, my copy of Making History seems to have evaporated. The idiots at buecher.de said it'd take a few days to get it ready for shipping. That was on April 24. Since then, utter silence.
Well, at least I've got The Hippopotamus and The Liar to keep me company until then ;)
Also, that remidned me why the only two reasons to shop at buecher.de instead of amazon are:
- buecher.de sent me a gift certificate
- the thing I'm looking for isn't available at amazon
Well, this experience won't change anything about that policy =_=

ETA: After I've finished with the Fry novels, I'll probably tackle those. And then, it's Discworld.

I recently discovered this shop on eBay. They print bags with costum logos.
Well, I wanted a bigger one anyway so I gave them two image fiels and asked whether they could put that particular logo on a bag for me.
The woman running the shop said sure thing, so I ordered.
When the finished item came in the mail, I was kinda impressed.
Even I didn't expect the thing to turn out this good...

Woah Oo )

Also, happy tenth anniversary to everyone's favourite satirical, scandal-inducing cartoon - South Park!!
MTV Germany (They've had the rights to the series for a couple of years now) ran a countdown of the ten best episodes, as voted by users on their website.
"Woodland Critter Christmas" came fifth. I'd never seen it before but I think I now have a favourite episode. Stan refusing to do what the narrator says and the two arguing half the episode? Awesome, especially considering the narrator was played by that (un)fortunate audio crush of mine. I'm sure they had one helluva time dubbing that thing XD

On the other ahnd, I still don't have the slightest idea what to think about "Good Times with Weapons". Sure, the "Americans don't care about violence as long as there'S sex and nudity to ban" message of the episode was just brilliant. But the anime references? It just yelled "Japanese animation = Mindless violence" at me. Maybe I'm totally mistaken here, but I dunno really. Sometimes, I just get pissed when stuff I love gets parodied and I can't quite see the intention. I guess it's one of my more severe character flaws.

I really, really, really need to get my ears pierced more. There's so many fancy earrings out there but I have no hole left (Holy crap, how did that sound?!?) ;_;
Granted, I have no idea how much it might cost me since I got the ones I have now when I was at kindergarten age. Bleh.
Guess I gotta ask...
Like, "Fuck pain, what's the price?" XD
Someone just bought three books.
Three.
And yes, one of them is das Meisterwerk :D
For some odd reason, the others are by the same author O_o

*needs to read more* ^_^;;;
I just bought my first mp3 album ever. It's just some kiddie audio play, but I really love that series so I had to have it ^_^;;;
It was on BT but it wasn't seeded, and since I'm not allowed to use eMule on [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis line, I figured why not do yourself and your conscience a favour and buy it?
Also...
Retail CD price: 6.99 Euros.
mp3 download price: 3.90 Euros.
Can't help thinking it's quite a good deal :3

Last night, I had the worst migraine attack ever. I hardly slept at all and at 4:30 AM, I gave up and just sat at my comp.
Now, I'm sleepy as fuck and dizzy and hot and decided not to bother going to CPE prep. They'Ll have to live without me for one session, I guess. I usually do most of the work anyway so for me, it's actually better to study on my own. Wednesday has been cancelled so it's gonna be a quiet week I guess.
Anway. Fuckin' migraine. I'm surprised my head's still in one piece. Gotta buy some pills before the next time this happens. Yea yea *wanders off*
... because I felt it was appropiate.

Tip of the Hat to:

... Media Markt (chain of electronics stores) for putting up sooo many cellphones for everone to try. That way, I could hold a N73 in my hand. It's cute =)

... Mobilcom. Just when I was sure they don't wanna talk to me at all (and let's face it, they do look like the type of company to act like that) they sent me an email. More about that later.

... mum for giving me full control over about half of the money gran saved for me. 4200 Euros on a separate bank account. Woohoo~! And no, I'm not planning on spending it on useless crap. Also, I'm planning on using that account to actually save money.

... my new patchouli perfume for smellin' frickin' awesome ^___^

Wag of the Finger to:

... mum, again. This time for putting a shitload of pressure on me concerning stuff I have no control over. University applications aren't open yet, goddammt!

... our neighbours for doing bloody home improvement and scaring the cats with their loud banging and hammering. Way to go, fuckheads >:|

I just did a bit of research and noticed that I'll likely be able to get a smartphone in November. Okay, I do still love my faithful 6320i but... OMG smartphone O_o
And then, [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi is planning to get one, too, and I really wanna keep up the competition there *lol*

Hm. The way things look right now, I hopefully will end up with an N73.
You can't get it at 1€ yet, at least not with one of the cheaper subscriptions, but things usually change dramatically within a couple of months.
3.2 mega pixels (!!!), a Zeiss lens (OMFG), a flash for god's sake, the whole PDA/office deal, it runs Symbian and... shiiit.... *faints*
Also, they finally managed to make the memory cards hot swappable. No more taking the whole phone apart to change the card ^_^
Wow, what a piece of electronics.
I think I gotta adress the guy by calling him "-sama" O_O;;;

Also, new Koti album out on the 20th. I already heard the single "Sleep well" and the title track "Serenity". The latter one is hands down awesome. Mmh, lotsa good stuff this year ^_^
For anyone (and I know there's at least one on my flist) who liked the Angry Video Game Nerd stuff on YouTube, idiot me just found out he made more stuff. Some movies are in real good QuickTime quality. But they're on GameTrailers.com. There's even an interview :D

Last night's toss on TDS? Holy fuck *dies several times*
I could so picture half a million of fangirls around the globe (Yeah, well, maybe not QUITE around the globe, but anyway) in various states of heart attack :3
And I'll be damned if them knowing about slash fanfic didn't have anything to do with it. Also, LOL@them being unable to finish it. Can't blame them *giggles*
But OMG flirty Stephen. Rawr. True, he just couldn't stay in character but that made it even better. Gosh, I love them boys. Lovelovelove <3 <3 <3
And the cutting thing on TCR? Priceless *snort* "I like cock..." (pause) "...fighting" *rofl*
Same goes for the interview with that lawyer guy whose client is suing Viacom for pulling their TCR videos off YouTube.
"Librarians are hiding something" :D

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi and me bought a popcorn machine. Yeah, we're weird XD

Alright. Root filling's done, tooth filling will follow on April 18, provided the sucker behaves until then.
Somehow, I've gotten so many during those last couple of weeks, I'm already starting to get used to them. I'm weird like that *shrugs*
The stuff they put in there tastes yucky, though. And I'm hungry as hell but can't eat anything since the reight half of my mouth is still feeling as if it wasn't even there. Meh.

To cheer myself up, I got this.
Yes, it's a skull. But it's got a clock inside. Cool, huh? Well, probably not XD

Tonight, we're gonna meet up with a friend of Yama's and his girlfriend to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Oberhausen. Yummy :D~~~

Last night, while riding the bus home, something occurred to me.
I live in the Ruhr Area now. Getting to any concert around here would merely take like, half an hour.
Heh. Guess I gotta watch some tour schedules quite closely from now on ^____^

Anyway. Gotta hoover the house now. Cleaning day today, y'see?
Look what I just ordered: This!
Wow, I always wanted one of these. And it's stainless steel which does contain nickel, but I read it's chemically bound so it shouldn't trigger my allergy. Whee :D
(In case you're wondering: I figured that, now that I'm out of the teacher thing, I might just as well try and get into the Gotchic style thingy a bit more.)
jessybxx: (IBM T21)
( Mar. 12th, 2007 09:04 am)
Max's power supply is fucked. But apparently, it's not just cuz of the usual reason* but because it has a factory damage. Instead of too little power, which I suspected, the thing gives out too much power causing the motherboard to shut down the booting process. The hell...?! Unfortunately, you need special equipment to find out about this. Which, of course, [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi has. Lucky. Actually, I'm luckyx2 since we found this out now and can (hopefully) still get it replaced. Now all that's gotta happen is mum finding the bill in the mess that is my former room. Fingers crossed, eh?

Also, the second battery Yama buolt for Kan-chan doesn't work. It keeps overheating and shutting down and we have no idea why. Ah, well. Those are still available on eBay so should I really need another one, I only need to invest about 45 Euros.
Actually, I much prefer the other option, which could be described as "Once I get a job, start saving some moolah to buy a shiny, new IBM laptop at some point later this year". Unfortunately, they're not the type of laptop starting at 600-something Euros. They're business machines after all so I guess twice the amount would be neccessary. But them being business machines also means they're hard-working and nearly indestructable (I know both of these traits from good, old Kan-chan. He's simply amazing even though he's about seven years old <3), service is good and they hardly have to be repaired. We just saw the results of c't's annual laptop service survey and IBM came first in all but one category (Dell came second).
Yeah. Can you tell how much I prefer IBM? I mean, look at those consumer brands. Bro's got an Acer. The touchpad died after a couple of months (!). Mum's got a Fujitsu-Siemens. You can't see it when it's turned on, but the glass of the screen is green, for god's sake :| (Companies these days love to save money by fitting cheap screens which reflect like hell and can hardly be looked at unless the room's nearly dark. Hello?!)
Anyway. For now, that's just a dream.

* A computer can either be on 24/7 or be powered off every night. Switching from one to the other two or three times kills the power supply. I could go into the technical details here, but I won't. Just let me tell you that it's a) true and b) a general problem of how power supplies are built. So no way of changing it.

Speaking of dream. "Yes! Precure 5" episode 5 just finished. I'mma watch that now, and then, it's time to do some stuff. There's lots and lots to do today so we'll have to see about Biffno *gulps*
.
