The Wacken tickets arrived. And mum promised me to kick bro in the butt since he hasn't sent me the money yet ;)

Also, got the Doctor Who season one DVD box set. Yes, amazon is actually shipping them. And I already peeked at episode 13 because I was so curios to hear David's German voice. And I gotta say, he's awesome. When Kai sent me a pic of the voice actor, I noticed they actually have some similarities in how they look. Awww ^^

I don't believe this.

(Screen shot from torrent.to)

That's correct. We have a leak.
Someone acquired the DVDs of the first season (don't ask me how, maybe KSM accidentally delivered some of them despite the postponement) and posted all the dubbed episodes on BT.
How the hell are we supposed to get people to watch it on TV now?!
Fuck.

... wow, I honestly thought this week couldn't possibly get any worse. Ha ha frickin' ha.
And don't even ask about the huge thunderstorm that will apparently be hitting the city in about an hour. There's no way our satellite dish is gonna stay on the roof this time T_T

Apparently, though the statement seems somewhat unsourced as of now, ProSieben found a new airtime for Doctor Who.
Sundays, 5 PM; starting on April 13. With "Primeval" as lead-in.
Hm. Sounds a little bit better than the Saturday slot, but I'm still not entirely sure about this.
Lessee what Soulbrother has to say about it...

A meme I did on my German blog required me to make a screenshot of my current desktop and post it.
And because I like using things on here, too, I decided to put it on here as well.

Yes, that's the official Japanese Doctor Who logo. I think it's really pretty ^^

Right now, the German TV station ProSieben is airing teasers for this year's wok world championships.
And guess what the background music is?
"Lost in space". No kidding.
I mean, ProSieben is known for supporting Metal acts (Nightwish, Within Temptation, you name 'em), but Avantasia? Woah.
Granted, misplacing (and subsequently canceling) the Doctor was pretty damn stupid. But they still have their positive sides.

BTW, German Who DVDs due in ten days. Whee~!

Also... new band among my list of faves (see "current music"). More about that tomorrow? You bet ^_~

I've started watching the old Doctor Who series from the very beginning (season 1 aired in 1963).
The stories are great, and I don't care much about SFX anyway, so I don't mind if the thing looks ancient and trashy. It's still really enjoyable if you can manage to look past the surface.
In short: I'm absolutely loving it ^^

The German Doctor Who fans have set up a partition to bring back Doctor Who.
It can be found here.
Do me a favour and sign, everyone! Thanks =)

They're canceling it.
Canceling Doctor Who after just three weeks.
This hurts. So much.

They said they are searching for a new airtime, but I expect that to be somewhere around 3 AM...
Fuck.

So far, the ratings are looking all but good.
And I'm worried as fuck.
I've asked Kai if he'll get a notice, should ProSieben decide to stop airing Doctor Who prematurely. Probably not, seeing how he's "just" the translator and director (hah).
Of course, I'm praying for that not to happen, but these days? You never know.
What I do know is that it'd probably break my heart.
On the other hand, the whole occasion got me into more-or-less direct contact with "the man". Right now, I'm in a state where even World War Three couldn't shake me much ^___^

"The Unquiet Dead" and "Aliens of London" tomorrow.
I'm already excited, but this time, in a really optimistic way. Can't wait =)

Also, looking back on some dialogue from "Das Ende der Welt" (The End of the World), I noticed that some jokes actually hit their mark even better in German. This is a rare thing, but it's true. Wow.
“Never doubted him. Never will.”
(Jack Harkness - The Parting of the Ways)

Remember when I said that, in order to not fuck up the dub's translation, Kai #2 would have to be even more of a genius than me?
Well, I can now officially state that he is exactly that.

In other words: The German dub is excellent. For more, read on.

Praise, praise, and... uh... more praise ^^ )

Less than an hour until the first dubbed episode of Doctor Who will finally hit German TV screens.
Gee, I hope mum will remember to tune in. Told her a million times, so she'd better do me that favour O_o
I'm not nervous, why? *runs around, pulling her hair*

Other than that, we just put one of our (in) famous roasted chickens into the grill. So it's just about four hours until yummy time :D~~~

Right, so, it's...

... t minus four days until the first episode of Doctor Who (dub) will start airing. Dammit, I'm already having nervous breakdowns *flails* I wonder what Kai #2 himself thinks about it...

... t minus three days until the release of the new Avantasia album. Of course, knowing Nuclear Blast, I won't be getting it before next week, but anyway.

... and t minus one day until my psych appointment. Right now, I'm much more worried about getting there and finding the place than I ever was about the thing itself. Uh... yay? O_O

So, no laptop (Friday, hopefully), and no game (tomorrow, I'm sure of it, shoulda been here today).
Whatev.
In other news: Today was my first "day of the bag" at my new university. What the hell is that, you ask?
Well, it's basically some people giving out plastic bags that contain freebies, free magazines, brochures and such. There's stuff like small tryout packages of food, condoms (!), hygiene products (Did they notice the same thing I tend to notice about certain male fellow students? =_=) and so on. Today, there was a CD-R in it O_o
They also had a new kind of lottery where they take your photo and put it on their website. Then, you have to check for your pic, tell them the number and your name/address/university and you can win some stuff. Unfortunately, I already found mine. Please don't click, I look horrible and sick and ugh. Well, I am sick, but still. Maaaannnn... T_T

Finally, in other other news:
=> Fellow Doctor Who fans identified at new uni: 2
=> Of those, number of students in my year: 1
Not bad for three weeks into it, eh? I guess having a Ten/Jack/Martha wallpaper on Kan-chan does help. Today, after the last lecture, Hendrik, who had been sitting behind me, suddenly asked "So, how far have you watched it?". Hee =)

I hope my voice doesn't disappear again tomorrow. I'm having lunch with Cathi and not being able to talk when we only meet once a week would definitely suck big time. Fingers crossed, eh?

I just enabled the link to my new blog.
So now, the old URL leads to the new one. Kind of. Well, I'm basically counting on people clicking on every bit of text that looks somehow different than the rest *lol*
Hope you like the new layout. Me, it makes me teary eeevery damn time I look at it. Oh goody, my own blog makes me cry O_o
Still, I think it's lovely. A buit dark, yes, but then, Doctor Who is not a comedy show even though some idiots might see it that way. Rubbish =)
Also... binarydigit. An album by Japanese indie dance band fripSide. Thought it was appropiate for a geek ^_~
I was reading that clothes catalogue and saw the shirt on the following picture. I thought it looked nice until I noticed that something about it was fundamentally wrong.
Can you spot it?

Holy shit, the writing is backwards T_T [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi was arguing that maybe they just put the photo the wrong way, but if you look at the label in the neck, you'll see that it is not mirrored. So, I'm right and the people at Bon Prix are stupid ;)

There's been news about the airing (or non-airing) of Doctor Who in this country. Apparently, and quite contrary to what everyone believed, they've only just now acquired season 2 and are dubbing it right now (Someone's busy, I suppose?). So, no airing before 2008. And, just to add that fact, the series had at one point been announced to air in 2006. Er... dumbasses. The poor people who depend on dubs. Glad I'm not one of 'em.

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagis PS2 auction ended last night at 7. The final price was an astounding 351,99€, which even surprised me who had been very much optimistic about the whole thing. However, [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi was utterly taken aback. He'd told me he'd be happy with getting 140 Euros when the price was at that level the day before. Well, I thought it'd be about 200 Euros, maybe a bit more. But 350? Madness.

Our phone started ringing mere seconds after the auction had ended. Of course, it was mum who had watched the thing happen, the sneaky thing *lol*
However, like always, she didn't miss her chance of diminishing our feelings of victory. "Selling off your entire household now, are you?", that's what she said. Yeah, sure. Because game systems and games we don't play are totally vital items of survival. Gee... =_=

Also, my auction is live now. See it here. I got the first watcher within the first three minutes, there's three of 'em right now, but no bids so far. Still, looking good. And hey, I got the better games, so hopefully, people will be drawn to that rather than my old-ish console XD

We also re-added some of the cables. Check here to take a look at 'em.

On the "buying" side, I'm waiting for answers concerning two Nightmare before Christmas-related thingies. I sued the "best offer" option on both of them but heven't heard back from the sellers yet.
The first one is just a small set of buttons. The other one is this.
Huge (18" / 46 cm!), new, sealed plushy Jack Skellington. OMG look at him! He. Is. So. Adorable. WANT.
I offered 20 Euros, which is not exactly realistic, but I hope she'll offer to lower the initial price by two Euros or something. Pls?
Actually, I'll take him, no matter what the suggested price will be. He usually goes for more, so it's still a bargain.

I also found this guy selling Doctor Who buttons with free international shipping.
Yeah, I know, I swore I'd never use PayPal again (BTW, that is the real reason for wanting to get a credit card - avoiding the big bad PP). But... eh. Gotta think about it.
