I bet you were thinking I wasn't gonna do this one, huh?

ExpandClick here for teh hotness ^^ )

You might think I forgot someone. And in a way I did.
Well, in the beginning, I wanted to leave him out of this completely but then decided to include him as a sort of bonzus.
For some reason, I feel like he doesn't quite fit in here, yasee?

ExpandFinally - honorary mention (16/15)... )

There you go. That was MY weird little list.
Probably the most chaotic one yet. But who cares? ;)
Hell yeah :>

Stephen would've been even cooler, IMO, but hey. I'll take any chance to sit in front of the TV in the middle of the night *lol*

On Wednesday, CPE prep class broke its own attendance record. And yes, I mean that in a very negative way.
K., the teacher and me. Three sodding people. Holy fuck.

Also, something else happened which left me utterly frustrated and terribly disillusioned. It took me a while to figure out how to tell this little tale and I'll now be doing it the other way around compared to what I first had in mind. Anywho, here we go.

It all started with S. (teacher for Wednesdays, an American who's probably in her late fifties) asking whether we're worried about the exam. I truthfully said that I'm not. Then, she asked whether P. (other teacher) has done a lot of listening comprehension in class. We - again, totally truthfully - said no. Then, she looked at me, asking "So you're not worried about the audio part of the exam even though you didn't have much audio..."
Before she could even finish then sentence, I protested, telling her that I in fact get a lot of English audio at home. When I told her that I watch UK/US TV shows/series on a daily basis, two things became quite clear:
a) She thinks The Daily Show is a normal news program. Which means she has no idea about it. I didn't even start on Colbert. Wouldn't have made sense, eh?
b) She has not even heard of House.
Y'know, I'm happy the windows were far away from me during that class or I'm afraid I might've jumped.
What causes an American to become like that?
A hint might be the fact that her husband is an English professor who owns thousands of books. Maybe they just don't get in thouch with modern media.
If it's living in Germany, I gotta warn you people out there: Stay the fuck away from this country or at least leave after a few weeks!
I... have no words.
=_=

Also, K. keeps going on about the "I know my language (Like hell you do) but I'm having problems with the topics" issue. Please, leave me alone, it's not my fault and I can't teach you how to conjure answers to nearly every damn question out of thin air either. It's a talent. Or why did you think you're working on your PhD in chemistry/engineering and not literature?

My fave German podcast won an award. Wheee~!

BTW, here is Monday's toss, in case you haven't seen it yet. Mmh, flirty Stephen ^_^

Ewgh. I just found out (via an error message) that Tokyo Toshokan is run on a Windows server. Damnit,t hose things are such a pest =_=

Alright, Yama's here. Gotta run. C ya laters *wavey*

€dit: [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi and me had a good idea. More about that later, for now, I'll only say this much: If there's any chance for that thing to succeed, I'll explode. Just like that. Yeah.
For anyone (and I know there's at least one on my flist) who liked the Angry Video Game Nerd stuff on YouTube, idiot me just found out he made more stuff. Some movies are in real good QuickTime quality. But they're on GameTrailers.com. There's even an interview :D

Last night's toss on TDS? Holy fuck *dies several times*
I could so picture half a million of fangirls around the globe (Yeah, well, maybe not QUITE around the globe, but anyway) in various states of heart attack :3
And I'll be damned if them knowing about slash fanfic didn't have anything to do with it. Also, LOL@them being unable to finish it. Can't blame them *giggles*
But OMG flirty Stephen. Rawr. True, he just couldn't stay in character but that made it even better. Gosh, I love them boys. Lovelovelove <3 <3 <3
And the cutting thing on TCR? Priceless *snort* "I like cock..." (pause) "...fighting" *rofl*
Same goes for the interview with that lawyer guy whose client is suing Viacom for pulling their TCR videos off YouTube.
"Librarians are hiding something" :D

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi and me bought a popcorn machine. Yeah, we're weird XD
(from a TCR taping report which can be found here)
Stephen does Q&A, my hand SHOOTS up. He calls on my first! I really didn’t have much of a question prepared... but I said , "Between Colboard, JSX, and OSCLA.... Aren’t you SCARED?!" At first, he didn’t know what I was talking about and goes, "Is that part of the united nations....?" Then he goes "OH the colboard, the colbernation message board. I read that once.... NEVER AGAIN." I was LMAO. Then he goes, "Yes, I am scared! Oh yeah. I love Fanfiction...." We all look at each other like OMG then he adds, "Me and Jon... NEVER DID IT..." then nodded his head yes.

ZOMG!!! *faints*
This is exactly how I want people to react to RPF/RPS being written about them.
And it made me love Stephen even more... if that's even possible :3

€dit: Addon (from said forum thread, again concerning the fact Stephen knows about fanfic and RPS):

Oh, he's known about it for a while. Part of the fandom lore (which I've never seen a link to, so it might be in a locked LJ post or something) goes that someone asked him about it before, and he responded by quoting part of a fic.

Er... guuuuuhhhhhh.... *thud*

€dit #2: Reading all those taping reports makes me a bit sad. I wonder whether TDS and/or TCR will run long enough for me to have even the slightest, most theoretical chance to go see a taping? Well, I doubt it, but one can dream, right?

So Viacom did it again. Boo.
But y'know what?
I'm not the least bit sad about it. Because I can see the reactions.
People switching to other methods and places to upload stuff, people posting and fulfilling requests for stuff that's been lost, people helping each other out with sharing their videos.
That makes me so happy.
I really think Viacom just hurt themselves by doing such stuff. They also made us fans stick together even more.
And if they actually think they're in control of anything (can anyone really be that stupid?), I do feel sorry for them. Nothing more.
[/mini rant]

BTW, little meta-y thing about fan fiction and stuff (for the German speakers) on my German blog.

“It’s a kind of war where enemies can either be emboldened or beweakened. So we have to enscare them to the point where they rebecave themselves. We must disimagine the very thinkment of misunsuccessiveness. That is what we have to bedo.”
(John Oliver)

Best. TDS. Quote. Evah. Nearly killed me, that one. Especially "rebecave". Grrrreat word ;) My inner linguist was crying with delight during that one, believe me ^___^

Last night, my homepage was moved to a new server.
That was neccessary because the hosting company changed their plans. I now get 10 GB of space and unlimited traffic for the same price as before (7.95€). Wow :D

I finally managed to download the "A bit of Fry and Laurie" pilot episode. Wow, loved that one. It's at least as good as the rest of season one. The way they do a lot of thigs exactly the same way the Pythons would've done, it makes me happy beyond any reason. And they're both such amazing actors! But I still prefer Hugh using his American accent, stupid as that may be ^_^;;;

Speaking of American!Hugh, I quite liked episode 3x12. I know, it wasn't that amazing from a writer's POV, but if you manage to shut that out and concentrate on the dramatic quality, it was really entertaining. Not to mention I thought Hugh looked especially good this time. Or maybe that was just because of the three-week detox ^_~

Today's show of c't TV (Did I ever explain the title of the mag/show? Maybe I should...) was one of the best ones ever. For some reason, Georg was smiling even more than usual. I mean, he always seems like a gentle, friendly guy but today... he was positively beaming O_O And Mathias was, too, and somehow, even when he was teasing his co-host, he still acted in a way that suggested he's much more fond of Georg than he wants us to believe.
...
Actually, the word "lovey-dovey" kept lighting up in my mind in big neon letters. I wonder why ;)
Plus, I got a real close close-up of our geeky editor in chief's hands. That totally baffled me because it's so very unusual. And to think I got to see that in 1280x1024 resolution, recorded from DVB-S right to Max's HDD - pure bliss.

My parking sign arrived.
So did RJ. He's so cute and totally soft *cuddles him*

Last night, Stephen had an unusual lot of troble keeping a straight face. Adorable <3
And during the check-in with Jon, they both cracked each other up. Don't we all love it when that happens?
But this week's highlight (apart from the marvelous interviews with Bill Gates and Neil deGrasse Tyson) was the "emboldening terrorists" thing with John Oliver. Holy cow, that one made me cry with laughter.
BTW, I was surprised to learn that Oliver's only four years older than me. But maybe I just can't get used to the fact that I'm not fourteen any more ^^;;;

... too much TDS/TCR blogging these days...

Articles like this one do make me happy that I didn't spend my entire childhood sitting in front of the TV and eating cereals. No! I actually played outside and read books. Oh, and I started writing/drawing comics in third or fourth grade. Hell, I'm so weird XD
jessybxx: (Jon Stewart (Awwww) - Jan 8)
( Jan. 30th, 2007 08:45 pm)
Heh.
That was really interesting.

I loved Jon going "What does the F12 button do?":D
And him asking about the names of Bill's pets to hopefully get his password *lol*

For some reason, I thought Bill would be even weirder or scarier. But IMHO, he's an okay guy.

And Jon brought up an important topic with the whole "TV = passive / computers = active" issue. I mean, if there's a reason why I don't watch too much TV these days (apart from the obvious decline in quality) it's the fact I like to... do stuff. To create things, to write random crap, even if there's nobody interested in it... I just can't stand sitting around all the time and being entertained (and for the most part, rather badly). Actually, I've been like that LONG before I had access to the 'net, instead of just watching TV or listening to music, I'd play or build or draw or write stuff simultaneously. Just watching or listening without doing anything wasn't an option. It never was an never will be. At least not for long. That's... yeah, that's me. I guess the 'net just made it worse ^^
Stephen barely heard the question. "Yes! Two NC-17s!"
"You're...cheering for porn," Jon observed with a healthy amount of concern.

Hell... that sounds so much like me, it's not even funny O_O;;;

(BTW, said fic is here)

... if only I were be able to write such stuff... mentally, I mean... it's not like there's a lack of bunn... Argh, dammit >:O
Woah *wipes eyes*
Jon and that puppy, that easily hit my Top ten of Cutest Things ever.
*blows nose*
Anyway.

I'm back on Max after my six-day experiment of "Is it possible to rely solely on your laptop?". Well, it worked perfectly, I'm fuckin' proud of Kan-chan, but it seems like Max is pouting. He's acting up like mad. Firefox made him crash violently and right now, he refuses to talk to my digicam. Eek O_O

Got myself a CMS to manage my site collective.
Bro recommened Etomite sinc eit's effective and not as huge and difficult as some of the others.
Tried it and it's brilliant!
Importing my pre-made layout was a matter of minutes and it seems like my HTML knowledge stopped getting in the way, too ;)

Now it's day two after the storm and we still got no streetlamps.
And it's only situations like this that makes you realize just how dark the night itself can be if there's no electricity around.

... storm? No lights? Darkbess? Nowhere to go? Nothing to do?
Argh.
*twoe ars pop up in the corner of the room*
Oh noes!!
*fights off bunny*
BTW, mum's making rabbit tomorrow T_T
... watch - and download - this...
... while it's still there because it'll be removed in no time.
This is the TDS that aired after 9/11.

OMG Jon crying... ;_;
A... puppy at the end *sobs*
And what he said about open satire made me even more frustrated about the crappy country I live in because things these days look like that's being more and more criminalized =_=
jessybxx: (Jon/Stephen - *le sigh*)

Did anyone beside me notice that similarity between January 17's shows of both TDS and TCR?

O_O;;;

( Jan. 16th, 2007 11:41 pm)
I don't quite know how to put this, but someone actually wrote a fic about the Rice thingy that happened on both TDS and TCR last night. Don't read it. This is so very yucky but yet another proof that on the intarwebs, everything's possible O_O;;;
However, there's also those two drabbles which are both very, very cute. Stephen singing a lullaby for Jon? OMGawww <3 <3 <3

*is being whacked on the head by muse*
Ow. Yeah, I know!
*lets herself be dragged away*
Holy shit, there's half a tornado blowing outside. Actually, it's upposed to get even worse tomorrow.
*checks on Kou-chan*
You just hold on to the ground tightly, right? And if that doesn't help, I'm gonna grab my blanket and sleep inside you *lol*
... did I just say that? O_____o
(Actually, I wouldn't mind that since he's mine and stuff...)

I just came back from a grrrreat evening. Bro and me looked at old Nintendo games on an emulator, laughed, talked and just had a lot of fun in general.
Sorry for being sentimental, but I'm lucky to have a brother like him. I mean, I've always said that I wouldn't exchange him for anyone else and it's still true.
<3

Last night, I've been raiding YouTube for TDS/TCR and JonxStephen-related stuff.

Well, there's a number of fanvids, and since most of them use similar sets of scenes, I'll bring you my favourite:

Awwwwww *swoons*
I like the song, it's cute and fits the pictures. Awesome editing job as well!

And a nice one for everyone else who is just interested in good comedy.
Here, Jon checks in with Stephen at the end of his show and something seems to be wrong with Stephen's text. But see for yourself, it's hilarious!

OMG - Stephen speaking in typos XDDD
"It just so happlens my normal proogreafer is out dick." I nearly fainted from laughing so hard when I watched that for the first time.
And Jon losing it, like most of the time? Too adorkable *giggles*
I love those two. So much.

(PS: Made even more icons, this time: JonxStephen all the way ^_^)
Made two new icons for our guys' first shows of the new year.
The "Awwww" one (check it out on my icons page) was necessary cuz Jon keeps being cute on purpose, thereby reducing me to a brainless, squealing lump of fangirl-ism. Or something like that. And I feel like it's getting worse. Completely ebil, I tell ya >:D
And Stephen announcing the new year whilst being all grumpy in the beginning of his Report? Priceless. So there you go, this is my "Meh" icon XD
Guess what? I'm currently getting more Reports from December. Oh noes. Sometimes, I disgust myself. Well, not really. Maybe just a bit O_o
But y'know, even if I wasn't such a hopeless victim of fandom, I still wouldn't have a life. I'm just happier and better informed that way ^^
Actually, I'm surprised that I still get most of the stuff that's going on on both shows. Before I got into them, I figured it must be difficult for someone who isn't even from the country. Turns out it's not. They just explain and display the stuff so well, it's as if you were watching a very funny and very clever version of the news :D
jessybxx: (Jon Stewart (Awwww) - Jan 8)
( Jan. 9th, 2007 08:12 pm)
Eek.
Maybe I should add that to my list of hobbies? Folding...

I never downloaded an episode of The Colbert Report. Because I knew I'd love it and grabbing both shows each day would've been a bit much.
However, I was certain that one day, I'd do it anyway.
Well, that day was today.
I had nothing else to get so I had a go at the first Report of the new year.
And now, I don't think I'll be able to live without the swooping eagle again. Whoops X_x
Before that, Stephen (the character) somehow scared me. But damn, he's good. His show is so bloody different to TDS.
Still, they're both amazing in their own way.
Hooked? Me? You bet XD
Crap, that's two hours of DLing per day. But y'know what? I don't think I'll ever regret this.

I wonder how long I'll be able to pretend that [livejournal.com profile] thekelaal had nothing to do with this? ^_^;;;
I dunno whether I mentioned it before (and to be brutally honest, I'm too lazy to check XD), but soon, there will be a German version of Comedy Central.
Sounds good? Yeah, in the beginning, it did, since the US CC runs a couple of fine shows, like South Park, the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. Of course, me and various other German bloggers hoped that the German CC might air the latter two as well.
But the closer we get to the channel's launch date, the less likely it gets.
The schedule for the first week is out and they're mainly showing re-runs and recycled material. Blergh.
Well, it would have been nice to watch the "real" TDS and not those Global Editions on my TV but right now, it looks like it's not gonna happen.
Which means... back to BT.
And... god... I can't wait for TDS to start again! Tomorrow, folks =)

BTW, I grabbed "America - the audiobook". Didn't manage to listen to the whole thing yet, but so far, it's pretty funny ^^

And while I'm at it...
Here, have a TDS/Jon Stewart fic REC:
Hilf Mir! by[livejournal.com profile] cobrasnaps. Very cool, very unusual and very powerfully written :)

*checks tonight's TV schedule*
Ewgh. Bloody fuckin' nothin'.
Whatever. I have enough stuff lying around to get me through weeks without 'net - and, indeed, TV - access so no worries there ;)
