December 24
Got up at noon, took our time to get ready and departed for my parents' place. Got there far too early, but at least we had loads of tech stuff to talk about. Bro got himself an amazingly expensive Samsung sub-notebook (His old Acer was dying), and the lot of them bought a new router whose wireless antenna is too weak to cover the whole house =_=
Also, bro's been made his professor's assistant and is now correcting the exams of the people in his own year. And of course, he's getting paid. Ah, good to know someone's making mum proud (and, incidentally, serves to distract her from whatever I'm fucking up there days ^^).
Got 150 Euros each and had a nice lunch, more chatting and laughing. Came home rather late, but more or less happy.
December 25
Calm day at home. Had fondue for lunch which was awesome :D
Still, there were two long and annoying days still on our schedule and I can't say that we were prepared for all the stuff that was to happen within the next 48 hours.
December 26
Got up at 8 AM (T_T), re-checked the whole place to make sure it was cat-proof, grabbed our bags and off we were. Five hundred kilometers down to Bavaria, six and a half hours full of the occasional traffic jam and, at one point rather early in the day, a car that nearly hit us and scared me so much that I started crying ;_;
We arrived at

It was about 5 PM when the drinking started. It was mostly Bacardi and coke, but the amount of beverages the cousin seemed to have around made me wonder whether she owns a bar or something.
Yama and me announced the marriage, the cousin spat at me how anyone should go to work (which seems to be her only interest) and she couldn't imagine what to do at home and the ceiling would fall on her head and blah. Yeah, cool stuff to say without knowing anything about the situation. Grah.
It was funny how people kept advising me not to marry into this family. Of course, they were just kidding, but at a certain point I had the urge to tell them they're right >:|

When we were on the way back tot he workaholic cousin's place, we got a text message from Yama's brother saying "That's gonna be a lot of fun". When we arrived, we knew what was up.
Their dad must have emptied at least one bottle of Bacardi all by himself and was more wasted than I could possibly describe. He had to try several times to finish a sentence and don't even mention walking in a straight line. Unfortunately, he had our hotel room keys so we had to stuff him in the car and get him there in order to get to our beds. Luckily, that went surprisingly well, even though he was getting bloody annoying.
When we got into our hotel room, it was about 10:30. Oh, and did I mention it was freezing? I think the four of us were the only guests so maybe they forgot to turn the heating on. Funnily enough, even turning on the thing didn't help, probably because it had one of those systems that shuts down the heating during the night. Hello?! It's, like, winter! Idiots *sigh*
So there we were, in late December, in a hotel room without heating.
Climbing into bed felt like digging a hole into a pile of snow and lying down in there. Whee :|
I have no idea how, but I somehow managed to fall asleep.
December 27
I woke up several times during the night, either because I had moved too much and was freezing again or because I had moved too little and some bones were stiff and aching. Great fun.
We were supposed to meet in the breakfast room at 9 AM, so I had set my cellphone's alarm to 8:30. When it rung, we slowly got up (BTW, the room was still a block of ice), got dressed, packed our stuff and had breakfast.
After a few minutes,

We dropped off their dad at the aunt's place, picked up the aunt from America instead and drove to Nürnberg because we wanted to have a look at his bro's new flat, and especially, his cat. Their aunt wanted to visit someone else in the area so we took her with us and said goodbye once we had stopped next to the house where Yama's bro lives.
OMG, his cat is sooo tiny, at least compared to our big boys. She's a three year-old tabby girl named Shelly, and she's adorable <3
However, we didn't stay long because we had our own kittehs waiting for us at home.
The ride home was much smoother,f aster and shoter than the one before, probably because the Christmas holidays are over and many people had to go back home for work.
We got home in the early afternoon, said hi to the kittehs, had a shower, early dinner, and were just glad it's the heck over.
Phew!
So there. And now... two and a half weeks of real holiday. And we'll begin with some sleeping.
*keels over and starts snoring*

Sounds like my dad. He would be wasted all night and wake up the next day like nothing ever happened. When you drink as long as he did, you build up a tolerance and never really get a hangover. At least that's what I observed.
