Today, my music taste once again decided to show me how crazy and unpredictable it really is.
Long story short: I've been listening to French pop music most of the day O.o
The guy I'm kinda starting to get hooked on is called Mathieu Chédid.

I found out about him because he sang "Belleville Rendez-vous", which is the title song to "Les Triplettes de Belleville", my current favourite movie.
His stage name is -M- (Don't forget the dashes!!), hence the hairstyle *lol* Something that immediately attracted me is the fact that he's a brilliant guitar player. Not to mention he has a rather high-piched, falsetto kind of voice which is very unusual but sounds extremely, extremely nice to me =) His music is a wild mixture of Rock, Pop, Funk, Jazz and just about anything imaginable. I don't think I've ever heard anyone who's that musically versatile. BTW: His grandmother is Lebanese, maybe that's where he got the nice dark hair and eyes :D He's 36 years old.
Also, he seems to be kind of a weirdo. And weirdos are cool ;)
So far, I've only checked out his most recent album "Qui de nous deux?" ("Which of us?") (Careful, this links to French Wikipedia since the others don't have single pages for the CDs). Unfortunately, if you haven't listened to it yourself, it's almost indescribable. But damn, it's really different and interesting.
And now, I think you're bored enough, so here's the music video for "Qui de nous deux?"!
Thank god, I also found the lyrics, translated into English. Phew! I hope you get what the song's about. It did take me a moment to figure out, but once you take in the lyrics in their entirety, it'll become clear at once. And it's really cute, too, innit? ^_^
So... yeah. New obsession right there? maybe, we'll see...
I guess I now have a "strange music entry" icon XD
