These days, I love watching a certain TV station.

They're airing "Prehistoric Park" (IMDB) (Wikipedia) (ITV site) between Christmas and New Year's. Which also means today's episode will be the last. Awww ;_;

Man, I'm so happy to hear Kai doing something that's not kiddie TV or that only incorporates one or two lines :|
That Nigel Marven person he voices (I think he's somewhat famous in the UK) actually does a number of goofy things (He's five ^^), and Kai gets that across so well that my face tends to hurt from smiling so much <3

I'm still wondering why the best voice actor in the unvierse got to do this particular job.
[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi says it's because he had dome voices for that same guy before (in "Chased by Dinosaurs" and "Sea Monsters").
He's probably right. I wish they had chosen him for a cooler reason, e.g. because they surely needed someone who can act. I mean, there's a lot of that involved since Nigel is actually interacting with the creatures and such. They've really created a plot for each episode, which is kinda cool. Also, Nigel looks a wee bit like Michael Palin (meaning I find him rather cute ^^), and Kai has voiced him in the brilliant dub of Flying Circus. He fits the role so well it's frightening.
My favourite scene so far (We missed the mammoth one because the station changed the EPG schedule and our HDD receiver didn't record it, and I haven't seen any of the prequels) was the one in episode 5 where Nigel visits the prehistoric woods and, in a hushed voice, calls them "magic forest". I'm not sure if I've ever heard Kai #2 using the "totally in awe" mode of speaking before, but needless to say, I died.
So, yeah, lots of possible reasons, at least in my imagination. But... uh... I dunno, maybe he was just available... meh...
Still, what a lovely series. I love how they mixed fact and fiction, and hearing Kai #2 speak - and act - most of the time is simply heaven on earth.
Needless to say, I'll be getting the DVDs (out on January 11) *cough*
Also, I already received one of the prequels and the other one will be on its way soon. Wheee~!
... yeah, "fan" -> "fanatic", and in my case that seems painfully obvious XD

Also, to make things even worse... last Tuesday, when we were preparing the fondue, there was this stupid film... I don't know whether this is the same in all countries, but in Germany, all you get during holidays are movies that are either bad, cheap, old, for kids.... or all four ;)
Anyway, there was that movie. It was called "Lost in space", and that alone made me laugh. Tobi? Are you reading this? ;) So, while I was running about, putting stuff on the table and watching over the boiling fat, I kept ranting about how I hate all these ridiculous children's SciFi movies. This one was apparently a conversion of the Robinson Crusoe story into a space setting. At least that's what [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi told me. Well, I honestly didn't give a damn.
Or I didn't, right until I heard Kai #2 in there. Damn. It was only the last five minutes of the movie when I started listening to it, and there he was. Again.
The thing was, it wasn't even a line or a word that made me notice it's Kai.
It was just him. Breathing. Out.
Hell, either my ears have been calibrated to his voice for the last few years (Damn, I'm not even sure when this all begun T_T), or it's just me being an auditory type. Which is certainly true.
Anyway. That was way weird... but I like it ;)
