The premise

This is perhaps the most memorable scene in the history of the c't TV magazine.
It's the "aftermath" of a report about a robotics fair. They're discussing robot development and whether, in a few years, we'll have robot nurses, robot friends and whatnot.
And then, about halfway into the video, things get... weird. And I mean REALLY weird.
Prepare for some terribly bad acting and an overdose of c't wackyness ^_~

The notes

Don't take this as a subject for German studies. A lot of stuff in here is HIGHLY colloquial and especially Georg tends to fuck up idioms big time when on air. Guess he's still nervous, even after doing this for more than fopur years.
Also, he speaks in five-minute sentences. I had to add tons of full stops to give some strucute to his lil's speeches. Damn Northerners ;)
The translation is not 100% accurate, especially in the first half, but I tried to get the meanings across. The second half, however, sounds as funny in English as it did in German.
I also mostly left out stuff like "Er" and incomplete sentences. Just for the sake of flow.

The script

Mathias: "Also, ich bin mir da nicht so sicher, ob da noch gefragt wird, ob man will. Ich glaube, früher oder später suchen uns die Dinger heim. Oder?"
Mathias: "Well, I'm not too sure about whether we're being asked, if we want it. I beleive that sooner or alter, the things will come to haunt us."

Georg: "Na ja, gut, da muss man wohl schon mit rechnen. "
Georg: "Yeah, well, I guess we will have to expect that"

Mathias: "Tja. Wir haben gerade gesehen, die Scheichs bauen sich Sportler für ihre Kamele. Gut, die Japaner machen noch ganz andere Dinge, ne?"
Mathias: "Yeah. We have just seen that the sheikhs are bulding athletes for thier camels. Okay, but the Japanese are doing completely different stuff, eh?"

Georg: "Richtig, in Japan ist man in der Robotik noch relativ weiter, vor allem Dingen geht man sehr viel progressiver mit diesem Thema um, als bei uns. Man denkt da ganz offen über Roboter in der Pflege nach, im Wesentlichen in der Altenpflege. Die japanische Gesellschaft hat ja ein ähnliches Problem wie wir, die Alterung schreitet immer weiter voran. Das ist in Japan noch extremer, als bei uns, und darum denkt man darüber nach, zum Beispiel Haushaltsroboter zu haben, Hilfsroboter, die einem zum Beispiel Gegenstände aufheben, die heruntergefallen sind oder eben auch Roboter, die in der Pflege eingesetzt werden."
Georg: "Right, in Japan, robotics are much more advanced, especially because they're handling the whole topic much more progressively than we do. They're openly thinking about robots doing nursing care, mainly gwriatric care. Japanese society has a problem similar tro ours, aging is getting worse. In Japan, it's actually even worse than here, and that's why they're thinking about for example having household robots, helper robots that can pick up things that have fallen to the floor or robots that can be used in nursery care.

Mathias: "Das heißt, auch bei uns haben wir eine Überalterung der Gesellschaft... der Zivildienstleistende der Zukunft ist ein Roboter?"
Mathias: "That means, sicne we have an aging problem in society as well... will the social worker of the futuree be a robot?"

Georg: "Es ist zumindest denkbar, dass man in diese Richtung kommt. Es wir meiner Meinung nach allerdings noch ein bißchen dauern, bis man wirklich soweit ist, dass der Roboter auch soweit interagieren kann. Ob das dann wünschenswert ist, ist noch 'ne ganz andere Frage"
Georg: "It's certainly imaginable that we'll go into this direction. But in my opinion, it will take some time until we're at a point where robots are able to interact in a sufficient way. If that's desireable is a whole different question"

Mathias: "Ja ja, es gibt ja so Roboter durchaus zum Beispiel schon als Wachmann"
Mathias: "Yeah, yeah, and then, there are those robots who act as a guard"

Georg: "Richtig, Roboter als Wachmann in Hallen die die eigenständig erkunden, auch Roboter als Spielgefährten ist ja etwas, das bie den Japanern zumindest relativ gut ankommt. Also, so ganz weit weg sind wir noch nicht, es wird vielleicht noch ein paar Jahre dauern in der Entwicklung, bis vor allen Dingen die Mechanik soweit ist, dass da auch vernünftig..."
Georg: "Right, robots as a guard in halls they can explore on their own, robots as playmates is another thing that's very popular, at least with the Japanese. But we're not quite at that point, it might take a few years of development until especially the mechanics are at a point where they can..."

Mathias (cuts him short): "Sie sagen immer 'nicht ganz so weit', und dann reden sie von paar Jahren, also, wir erleben das noch?"
Mathias (cuts him short): "You keep telling us we're not that far yet and then you talk about a few years, so, will we live to see it?"

Georg: "Wenn wir alt genug werden denke ich, werden wir das schon noch erleben. Also ich geb der ganzen Technik da noch 10, 15 Jahre, dann können wir mit den ersten interessanten Objekten rechnen"
Georg: "If we get old enough, I think, we'll probably live to see it. Well, I'd say the technology will need another 10 or 15 yeas, and then, we'll be able to expect the first objects of interest"

Mathias: "Gut, äh, wir demonstrieren ihnen das vielleicht einfach mal. Wir machen jetzt einfach mal einen Sprung in das c't Magazin des Jahres 2030, und zwar genau jetzt" (snaps fingers) "Wundern sie sich bitte nicht, dass ich 2030 noch genauso aussehe wie 2006, dass liegt daran, dass natürlich auch die plastische Chirurgie unglaubliche Fortschritte gemacht hat. Aber das richtig Gute am c't Magazin des Jahres 2030 ist mein neuer Partner im Studio, der GS 3000. Hallo"
Mathias: "Good, er, maybe we'll just demosntrate that to you. Now, we'll make a jump into the c't magazine of the year 2030, and we'll do that right now" (snaps figners) "Please don't be surprised because in 2030 I still look the same as in 2006, that's because, of course, plastic surgery has made enormous advances as well. But the real good thing about the c't amagazine in the year 2030 is my new partner in the studio, the GS 3000. Hello"

GS 3000: "Hallo, Herr Münch. Schön sie zu sehen. Was darf ich ihnen denn heute mal erklären? Vielleicht auch gerne nochmal erklären oder auch ganz langsam erklären?"
GS 3000: "Hello, Mr Münch. Nice to see you. What can I explain to you topday? Or maybe explain it again, or explain it very slowly?"

Mathias: "Schon gut, GS 3000. Ich möchte heute eigentlich glaube ich gar nicht mehr erklärt haben. Ich finde, du könntest vielleicht, wenn du schonmal da bist, vielleicht ein bißchen das Studio saubermachen, hm?" (hands feather duster)
Mathias: "It's alright, GS 3000. I think today, I don't wanna have anything explained to me. I think, while you're there, maybe you could clean the studio a bit, eh? (hands feather duster)

GS 3000: "Wo denn?"
GS 3000: "Where?"

Mathias: "Wie heißt das?"
Mathias: "How's the word?"

GS 3000: "Oh, entschuldigung, hehe. Wo darf's denn sein, Herr Münch?"
GS 3000: "Oh, sorry. Where would you like it, Mr Münch?"

Mathias: "Ja... ich würd' sagen, da wo es am nötigsten ist einfach, ne?"
Mathias: "Yeah, I'd say, where it's most needed, eh?"

GS 3000: "Na, ich würde sagen, das ist einfach. Humanoiden, die schmutzen immer so" (starts brushing Mathias with duster)
GS 3000: "Well, I guess that's easy. Humanoids, they're always dirtying everything..." (starts brushing Mathias with duster)

Mathias: "Okay, ich seh' schon, auch im Jahr 2030 wird nicht alles richtig super sein. Deshalb beamen wir uns dann für die nächste Woche zurück ins Jahr 2006 und machen ein ganz normales c't Magazin mit Georg Schnurer, dem Menschen. Bis dahin" (turns to GS 3000) "Wo kann man ihnen denn die Platine rausdrehen, sagen sie mal?"
Mathias: "Okay, I get it, even in the year 2030, not everything will be great. That's why, for next week, we'll beam back into the year 2006 and do a totally normal c't magazine, with Georg Schnurer, the human being. Until then" (turns to GS 3000) "So tell, where can one unscrew your circuit board?"

GS 3000: "Also, der Resetknopf ist tabu"
GS 3000: "Well, the reset button is taboo"

Mathias: "Sagt wer?"
Mathias: "Says who?"

GS 3000: "Sagt der GS 3000"
GS 3000: "Says the GS 3000"

Mathias: "Ja, gut, aber GS 3000 hat hier ja nix zu melden... das müsste doch eigentlich irgendwo in deinem DOS programmiert sein"
Mathias: "Yeah, well, but GS 3000 has got nothing to say here... that should be programmed into your DOS somewhere"

(they fight a bit, no need to transcript anything here...)

GS 3000: "Das ist nicht zulässig"
GS 3000: "That is not allowed"

Mathias (turns him off): "Prima" (walks out) "Puh"
Mathias (turns him off): "Great" (walks out) "Phew"

(GS 3000 stands around motionless, finally, the camera fades out)
