Coming up next: Boring stuff about mum's choir and their webpage.
So my mum's singing in that choir, right? They're pretty good, I'd even go as far as saying they're one of the best choirs in this part of the country.
Too bad their homepage hasn't been updated in years. Mum once offered to take care of it like, three years ago, but they sorta forgot about it.
Until now.
A few weeks ago, they had their yearly conference and the topic came up again. And suddenly, they had a new web hosting provider (old one went bankrupt) and mum got FTP access.
Problem is, even though mum is supposed to be the only one responsible for the site, she isn't mentioned anywhere. And that other guy, who doesn't even have anything to do with the choir in the first place but has full access to the thing, already started putting stuff on the page. Among that was an "under construction" sign which he linked from somewhere else. Yes, he's a bandwith thief, too =_=
Anyway, today, mum phoned the choir's boss and told her they need tot alk about this. She needs full - and exclusive - access to all passwords and parts of the site. So we can shut that other guy out and are not in danger of losing any part of the new page once it's up and running.
And BTW, in the meantime, I deleted all the stuff that guy put up and wrote a new index.html saying they're working on the new site. Haha >:D
The server actually crashed while I was navigating around the site, which is something that shouldn't happen with any decent web hosting company. Even a ping went unanswered O_O;;;
It's running again but that made me rather uncomfortable. It's just not supposed to happen. Bleh.
Anyway. Once we get full access, I'mma install Etomite and start thinking about a layout.
My CPU fan is running at half speed, sometimes making less than 1000 RPM. I have no idea why and it doesn't seem to affect the processor's temperature in any way. But it still bothers me. For I am paranoid.
