Well, I'll be leaving for Yama's place tomorrow so I felt like leaving a little pressie =)

I hope it works, I had some problems uploading the last 60 KB or something O_o
And this is what it contains:
Shining star
[128 kbps / 3:28 / 3.17 MB]
artist: NAKAJIMA Tomoko
anime: Futari wa Pretty Cure
CD: vocal album "Dual Vocal Wave!"
no lyrics available T_T
When I listened to this song for the first time, I *died*. No kidding. It takes about 20 seconds to capture your attention completely, and if that fails, just wait for the transition between the verse and the chorus. Guitar, anyone? But apart from the awesome guitar stuff, just about every aspect of this track is absolutely spectacular and never fails to make my jaw drop even though it's a bit old already.
"Yume yo habatake / two hearts"

I believe in
[128 kbps / 4:21 / 3.97 MB]
artist: NAKAJIMA Tomoko
anime: Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart
CD: vocal album "Extreme Vocal Luminario!!"
no lyrics available T_T
Same artist, similar ingredients but still different enough to be as loveavble as "Shining star". Excellent guitar solo as well :D
--------------------------------
Forever...
[128 kbps / 4:49 / 4.41 MB]
artist: savage genius
anime: Erementar Gerad (OP)
CD: OP single
lyrics (+ translation!!)
If only the first album by savage genius ("Kaze no kesshou") had been anthing like this 2nd single of theirs T_T This is really fast and extremely catchy. Makes you feel like having been run over by a truck, but this time, it's a truck that consists of awesome melodies and great vocals, so it's not too bad ;)
--------------------------------
Heh. This was fun.
Wow, I feel like Genki / KnO (my anime mp3 request sites) have come alive again. Eh... nope, that wouldn't be too good. Zombie websites, ewww XDDD
Anyway... Enjoy ^_^

Unfortunately, while I did some research for the rrack info, I came across some German Pretty Cure sites as well. The series has been running in a dubbed version for some time now. I once watched the opening and well, lucky I'm such a calm person or I might just have punched the screen >:O And the fact that there's a German version of "Shining star" nearly made me cry with anger. That's just so sick!
Speaking of sick, look at this. Business opportunity? Ewgh. So they(TOEI) are trying to sell the rights and they actually believe the thing could be a success. And you know what? IMHO, they're just plain wrong.
Why?
Okay, so Pretty Cure is huuuugely popular in Japan, pretty much like Sailormoon was ten years ago.
Its ratings are great and it's selling tons of merchandise.
And of course, companies in the West are trying to repeat that success and to bring the series' popularity over here.
But I seriously doubt this is going to work.
Why?
Well, in Japan, mahou shoujo (magical girl) series are a part of the culture. People dig the stuff even though it's kinda repetitive and tends to work according to the same scheme being applied over and over again. It's morew or less the same like the mecha (giant robot) principle. I mean, HOW MANY Gundam series are there?
In the West (and I'm mainly talking about Germany here but I think it might be similar in other European countries and the US as well), it's nothing like that.
When the Sailormoon craze had faded, companies tried to repeat it using other magical girl and similar anime shows. It never worked. Some examples:
- (Ai Tenshi Densetsu) Weddingpeach: Bombed. Like, whoa. They didn't even produce a single CD, I think. And that means it was bad. Very bad.
- (Ojamajo) Doremi: Received some response but not nearly as much as good old Usagi did. Well, they made some CDs and stuff, but the thing faded quickly. I'm not even sure how many seasons we got (there are four full seasons plus one OVA) but I remember watching the beginning of season two. Still, it was nothing compared to the Sailormoon hype which spawned more merchandise than Star Wars (Well, maybe not but it certainly felt like it at some points XD) and even got its own (awful) pop group O_O
So, not much money was made from any mahou shoujo kind of series after Usagi had left the tops of the sales charts.
To say "The future for these shows looks promising in the West" would be the biggest lie since... I dunno... "Paris Hilton is a genius" or something XDDD
But how about the present? Is there anything on TV right now and how do the viewers respond to it?
As I said, Pretty Cure is actually airing on German TV right now. And I checked some forums to see if people like it or not. Most of the viewers seem to reject the series because "It's too much like Sailormoon".
Well, that's exactly what I predicted when I first heard about the rights having been sold to RTL II (German TV station).
I don't know what the people in Italy think about it (that's the only other country that has bought the series so far) but I doubt it's going to be totally different. *wonders whether
silicondreams could find out something there*
To make a long story short, we're not Japan and will never be.
Dear TOEI, don't try to sell something to the US that isn't working in Europe and probably won't be much of a success anywhere else.
It's just a waste of time, money and - in your case - webspace XD
Amen.
Sorry for the rant, but maybe it's interesting to someone... anyone... maybe not. At least I had fun writing it ^_~
Which reminds me... I still need to get #3 and #4 of the Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Special Soundtracks *lol*
