Just listened to Rocket Ride for the first time.
And HOLY CRAP THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!!!
*wipes off sweat*
Who the heck said Edguy completely changed their stlye with this album? Total rubbish, this new stuff sounds more like Edguy than anything else!
And Tobi's lyrics are up to a level that's almost frightening.
The limited edition booklet also rocks big time, especially those "about/favourite stuff" pages for each member. And do I have to mention that Tobi's page makes you giggle all the time cuz the stuff he wrote is sooo funny? I don't think I have to *lol* And those pictures! The new promo photos look really amazing, and some of the old ones featured in the history part are really interesting. I wonder how old Tobi was in that pic where he wears the hairband sorta thing - he looks like fourteen or something O_O And he looks exactly like I pictured him to look at such a young age *lol* So sweet <3
Unfortunately, this is another one of the booklets that make scanning almost impossible T_T
Right. Back to the music.
Which just blasts everything else away in an instant. I mean, the firts track "Sacrifice" already made me cry like there's no tomorrow cuz it kinda takes the best elements in Edguy's music and pushes them to a maximum. Absolutely stunning!
Many people didn't seem to like the title track. Don't get that AT ALL. I love it. I love the chorus and especially the lyrics.
As most of you probably have heard, on "Return to the tribe" (which is about Tobi, the family man *lol*), we get Tobi singing a guitar solo. Pretty weird and definately something unique =)
Apart from the serious stuff - which still makes up the majority, despite what many fans feared - we get more Tobi weirdness than ever. The outro of "Catchof the century" just makes you die with laughter, and "Trinidad" is just too funny to hate.
The only thing I'm missing is a real good ballad. "Save me" is quite okay, but it's too unusual and too much Bon Jovi (for once, the other people were right XD) to be something that stands out among the "real" Edguy/Tobi ballads.
Sorry for being hysterical ^_^;;; Of course, I'm gonna write a REAL track-by-track review that's not just like "OMFGthisisfuckingamazing" XD
Okay, gotta get my mind back together now. C ya *waves*
