From now on, I'm able to put both of my neglected HDD partitions (Y'know, the original plan was to have them carry additional OS which finally didn't happen for unknown reasons) to some use.
The fist one over time became a sort of temporary space to store videos I'm currently watching.
And the second one will be my digital VCR.
That's right, I finally got off my lazy ass and re-configured my good old TV card.
It didn't work at first so I called [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi.
He once again took over May via remote control (Which is still dead scary because I get logged off once he is connected. Why? Well, he is using my admin account ^_~) and checked the settings himself.
After some rummaging around, I found out what's wrong. I had screwed the satellite cable onto the wrong socket on the TV card.
God, how fuckin' embarrassing =_=
Anyway.
The thing is that my normal receiver is still analogue while my TV card is digital. That means I get a lot more channels on my PC (and the quality is loads better, but that goes without saying XD).

When I skipped around, I noticed that contrary to what I had heard, GIGA* still exists. It seems like they got their own channel now and are no longer a part of NBC. They're now GIGA Television GmbH. Well, congratz :D And for some weird reasons, I can tune into there now as well. Which prolly means they changed satellittes.
They also feature an hour of http://www.gamestelevision.net/ after mindnight. Cool!
Wow, I love this. Now I'll be able to watch geeky hosts around my age playing games and having fun all day and night *lol*

Another nice aspect is the fact that the card uses very little CPU power (less than 25% even when it's recording to the HDD). That's because [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi bought the card for me when I still had HAL9200 so he got the one that uses the least system resources but still delivers good results.
And it does. The picture look great even when watching in fullscreen mode on my rather large screen resolution (1280x1024). Cool :)

Well, seems like my baby Max finally became a fully fledged entertainment station. He's now my music player, working tool, communication device, TV and VCR.
Yay ^_^
Now he only needs to learn how to cook and all will be grand *rofl*

* GIGA is a channel about - you may have guesed it since I'm the one writing this - computers, computer games and video games :D

Also, Super Eurobeat Vol. 171 is out. Currently getting it. And hopefully, Initial D Fourth Stage D Selection 3 will be available soon as well since it's released on the same day (today). I am a very happy geek bunny indeed ^_~
