I love House!!! *squeess*
The series just started here about two months ago (which is a completely normal gap, I guess). Even though I missed the first two episodes, I guess I've never gotten attached to a series that quickly and heavily, except maybe for SG-A. Actually, the writing and the dialogues are that good they have me constantly jump up and down, sqealing. During every bloody episode. And this is only the dub, dammit!!!

What frustrates me to no end is the fact that 99.8% of the German viewers prolly have NO IDEA who Hugh Laurie is. Tho mum and bro were surprised when I told him that he's a comedian ;)
And then, the fact they heavily miscasted his voice actor. That guy's voice is about five octaves deeper than Hugh's real voice O_o
Well, I'll try and see whether I'll be able to grab the original episodes. That way, I'll be able to watch 1x01 and 1x02 and have a look at more episodes (We're still on season one, the episode that aired last night was 1x07 "Fidelity", the German title was far too long and complicated to remember* X_X). I'm scared of the medical terms, though. On the other hand, I don't get a word of tose in the German version either, and I'm still able to follow the things going on. Actually, I think that's done this way on purpose *lol*

One thing scares me, tho. When watching Blackadder, I thought "Okay, so Hugh Laurie is a good comedian. But that's about it. There are comedians I like THAT way, but not him." Okay, things were a little different when he played Ludwig in 2x06 "Chains", but only a LITTLE. Ahem. God, he was evil back then XD
And now I'm gradually developing a "thing" for him anyway. Guess it's the role. Yeah, that must be it. And the stubble. And those huge, scrary eyes. God, that blue is almost unreal! *shake shead*

Why do you Americans get Hosue merchandise? I want that "House VS. God" t-shirt *sobs* Or the DVDs. Or both :D

* This is a thing that keeps annoying me. I like short, striking episode titles. And a lot of UK/US series seem to use them. But why do the German dubbing people ALWAYS change them to those effing long "Bla bla bla bla bla fuckin' bla" ones? WHY???? It's not about length, guys, at least not in this case *rofl*

Today, we went to Siegen to shop for some stuff. Bro needed glue and paint for his Warhammer figures, mum needed some mini DVDs to feed her new camcorder.
And look what we found:



Woah X_X That one opened last Sunday. Good timing, eh? And so bro and mum tried Subway for the first time. Guess they liked it even though my parents seem to think it's too expensive. Well, an one-foot sub does cost six Euros, but then, it's a whole meal's worth of food. Bleh to them :P

And then...



What? That set was priced down to 5€ (from 20!). So there. Me? Cheering for Germany? Nah *cough*

So the DVD box of House season one is $39.99. That's 31 Euros. So... DISTURBINGLY cheap T_T
You Americans are indeed lucky.
Have to re-check the thing about shipping costs and import fees to see whether I might just grab that thing. I once ordered something from amazon.com and they added quite a bit of fee to it T_T But that was ages ago (like 2002 or something) and if I got that correctly, that fee thing only applies to priority shipping these days. Need to read that stuff again, tho as I'm not exactly keen on unpleasant surprises.
What I like is the fact they merged the acounts like eBay did so I don't have to make anohter one and can use my amazon Germany settings and addresses ^_^

Still. *squees herself silly* Imagine having like, original DVDs of it. And yes, I do have a region-free DVD player. And I have two DVD drives so I could set one of them to region 1.
And then, all the "annoying mum by watching stuff in a language she can't understand" will be fun as hell :D Not to mention all the writhing and squeeing cuz of the dialogues and... Hugh. Yes, I give up, I now officially have as crush on him. There you have it.
Gosh... I really want those DVDs...
