Well, that's that.
My old HDD was connected to Max for a last time and I retrieved all of my music, mail and other data. Then, I killed all of the partitions that were on it (had to reboot for that cuz it seems like Windows doesn't like messing with the MBR when a HDD is in use).
I also installed the d-bracket so now I have six USB ports. Unfortunately, they're all on the back of the case. That means I'll have to buy another bracket to get some ports in the front. Because crouching behind the desk to connect my cellphone or my mp3 player is no fun at all. Meh.

Okay, some far too many pics (my old comp, the new one, etc.):

ExpandBeware, almost 1 MB! )

Right now, I'm pretty trained so it merely took me a few minutes to open the case, correct the angle of my misinstalled d-bracket and close the thing again. But that's also due to my wonderful new case. For example, it has screws that can be used without a screwdriver and a handle to remove the case door. Makes the wholoe procedure seem like a walk in the park!

I'm starting to get comfortable with this new system =)

Next up:

- Killing my current installation of Windows XP (in German, ugh =_=) and installing a decent copy (in English ^_^)
- Installing Suse Linux 10.0 and messing about with that (Yay, funfun!)
- Having another go at Windows Vista (Might work with more onboard hardware and less cheap copies [like my old sound card])
- Getting a bracket for front USB (Those seem to be kinda expensive O_O)
