Well... it was good. Of course, 20th Century Fox/Blue Sky Studios is no Pixar and never will be. The CGI was extraordinary, though (OMG, the water and the fur, they looked fantastic!). Unfortunately, some aspects of the movie looked more like Disney than Disney itself does these days. That includes them managing to break one of my major "rules that make CGI movies good": Do what you want, but for god's sake, DON'T MAKE 'EM SING! And why did it have to be vultures of all animals? I love vultures! They're cool and silent and... they're just not supposed to like, break into song during any scene in any movie *sobs* The story was a bit weak, but the parts about Scrat (y'know, the unfortunate guy from the trailers chasing its acorn) were hilarous, especially the final one.

What I liked was the dub. Yes, there are times when I'm all for thenm, especially when one of my fave voice actors gets an absolutely unusual role. I didn't know of that before so I kept grinning like a loon during the scenes that had him in it. It was Fast Tony, BTW, that armadillo trying to sell crap to the other animals. I know the original voice was done by Jay Leno, but here, it was done by a guynamed Lutz Mackensy, who is also the main voice actor for Rowan Atkinson (says the girl owning the Rowan fanlisting ^_~). As I said, this was somewhat surprising as he usually does characters that are a bit more quiet (like that redhead from CSI Miami mum likes, forgot the name). But he SO ruled screaming around and speaking really fast <3
Now am I weird? I love to watch US/UK stuff in the original version, but on the other hand I adore dubs as well. Guess I'm one of these people who really profit from the invention of the DVD, what with it having varuious audio tracks XD

Of course, there were a couple of trailers as well:
Cars Looks too Disney for me. Also, I've rarely seen a trailer that was this boring. Need to see/read more before I cand ecide for or against watching it.
Asterix Why are they doing an animated movie again? The last one (1994) was a bloody disaster! Might have a look at it, though, as it looked quite okay.
Over the Hedge Dreamworks? Must see!
Sieben Zwerge 2 German comedy thing. Never watched the first one, so I'm not too sure. Looked a bit like something I might like to avoid. On the other hand, it has a lot of cool comedians starring. I guess I gotta grab the first part to check.

Mum and I watched the movie without bro cuz he didn't like the first one and decided against trying part two. Before the thing started, both of us were sitting in our chairs, arguing about something. But it was the joking, not-so-serious kind of argument that's pretty typical for our family. So at one point, mum was like, "Ah, I wish I would've taken your brother with me instead of you, at least he doesn't keep contradicting me". I said "Yeah, might be because he just sits there, being silent all the bloody time", and then, we just started giggling ourselves silly. Suddenly, mum looked like she had just noticed something and next, she was like, "Look, we're just laughing all the time. So I guess with you, it's more fun after all".
I liked that. It was one of those rare times where I didn't feel like the prototypical black sheep =)

Weird fact: When we came home, mum and I were both using Sid speech (I guess he has that s-thingy in the original version too, right?). We're such freaks. Bro was this close to running away from us ;)

PS: I read a really cute fanfic today <3 Actually, I read it twice and I doubt that's been the last time ^^
Have you ever wondered how to make your Windows Explorer display the size of folders, and not only that of files?
Well, here's a solution: Folder Size for Windows Explorer (project page) (instructions)!
That thing adds another column to your Explorer called "Folder Size". It can basically replace the old "Size" column as it displays both file and foider sizes.
My tip would be to make it display file and folder sizes in compact format (click "FolderSize.cpl" in "C:\Program Files\FolderSize" to change that) cuz 39,1 MB certainly reads better than 41.070.460 bytes, right?
My, I've only had this little tool for 24 hours and I already love it to bytes... er, bits ^_~
