My USB hub came today.
And what's the ultimate geel challenge if it's about a 4-port USB hub? That's right, connect four devices to it and see if all of them work :D I was particularly interested to find out whether my tablet (y'know, the thing I use instead of a mouse) still gets enough electricity that way as my new USB hub is a passive* one.
So I grabbed all of the USB devices within my reach (tablet, mp3 player, USB stick, cellphone) and *drumroll* boy did it work ever so smoothly ^_^

* as opposed to an active USB hub, a passive one doesn't come with its own plug. So if the devices connected to a passive hub use up more power than the USB port itself can provide, you have a problem

To celebrate this most stupid unique event in the history of computing, I took a picture of the whole setup!

Cut for 800x600 size pic and general geekiness )

In other news: I'm sleep-deprived as hell and therefore feel like a geek on coke. And no, I'm not talking about the Coke Light standing next to me O_o

PS: Kai is the hottest little thing in the universe. Old news, I know, but still. Those "Eagle" screenshots make me writhe...

I'm currently argung with this person at the Gamma Ray message board. It's about the Gamma Ray in Japan video. S/He simply doesn't get that it is an official thing even though it hasn't been released on any CD or DVD. But it's a promo video from Victor Entertainment, Gamma Ray's Japanese record label. I mean, how much bloody official can you get? The argument "But it's already on the net" didn't do anything for me either. It's a stream. But watching a stream (Why do they exist? One reason surely is that ppl can't download them with normal methods. Of course, geeks know otherwise, but that's beside the point here.) and downloading a video and watching it offline are two very different things. I mean, look at all the current fuss about people grabbing TV series from the net. Free TV or not, it's still copyright infringement if you distribute the stuff.
And that's exactly why I'm not taking the risk of sharing the thing on an official site, period. I may be stupid, but I'm not THAT stupid.
