So I downloaded this Majestic promotion movie sorta thing from [livejournal.com profile] helloween_fans and judging from the Victor Entertainment logo in the upper right corner, it had to be something Japanese. And right I was cuz the short interview in the beginning of the movie (finally one that's not audio only!) with Kai and that strange bearded guitar player Henjo was subtitled =)
I can't really remember what they talked about as I was too busy staring at Kai (Oh, really? :P), but it was pretty fun *lol*

Next thing was...
Acoustic performance OMG. This was really unusual but almost too cute to watch. I had to stop every thirty seconds or so to prevent myself from either crying or freaking out in another weird way.

Whoever had the idea, I love them, I really do!
I wouldn't have thought that Gamma Ray stuff works even if it's played like this O_O
They should do something like DÄ did with Rock'n'Roll Realschule. Including the stupid jokes and all that. That'd be... nice XD
Same goes for Edguy, of course, and basically every other cool Power Metal band ^_~

They played "Rebellion in dreamland" first and "Send me a sign" in the end. And what about the middle, you ask?

Well, that's where the strange part of this post starts O_o

You know how there are numerous great things around that make me happy, each and every one in its own way.
But if you happen to run across two of those things combined into one, that's always something very special!
In this case, it was the sexiest Power Metal singer in the world and the most beautiful language in the world.
Translation: Kai was singing in Japanese *dies*

I've never been happier to be home alone cuz that finally made me lose it. Completely and utterly. And that included me running around the house squealing like a fan of some stupid boygroup (X_X). I even washed some dishes to calm down but it didn't help.

Well, I'm back to normal now and I can actually tell you that his pronounciation was pretty good, at least it was good enough for me to actually understand some of the words. He only did four lines or something, but it was obvious that he'd practised that a lot. I'd even say his performance was excellent compared to your usual German trying to pronounce Japanese words correctly. He even mangaged the "r" sound which should be somewhere between the actual "r" and "l", which is quite amazing as the usual "Kai Hansen-R" is quite different from that.

After a short research, I found out that the song is "Kojo no tsuki" [荒城の月], which is one of the most famous traditionals and it's over a hundred years old. There are several translations of the title, but IMO "The Moon over the desolate castle" sounds especially nice.

The first verse (that's what Kai sang) goes like this:
Haru koro no hana no en
Meguru sakazuki kagesashite
Chiyo no matsu ga e wakeideshi
Mukashi no hikari Ima izuko

Translation (I know there's a line more than in the Japanese one, but believe me, this is not exactly unusual ^_~):
It was a spring evening
A feast of blossoms was held on the tower
and cups of wine were passed around
Then up from the old pine the moon rose
But now, where is the brightness of bygone days?

What I loved was the fact that even though I didn't know their (German or English) meanings, I still recognized most of the words when Kai sang them. So yes, he did that really well. And I can say that cuz I know what it sounds like when Japanese people who don't know the language try to pronounce English words (or German ones, for that matter. I could tell you a wacky story there, but not now XD).

It was so cute when Kai was about to repeat the first verse and told the audience to sing instead of him. Well, they're Japanese and naturally, they weren't THAT loud *lol* Kai commented on that, saying they're shy, whilst chuckling the way only he can *squealing fit* And even though he still had to sing half of the thing on his own, he seemed to have a lot of fun (actually said so in the end!). But then, being cute and gentle, Kai could very well be Japanese too <3

Anyway, now I can officially call him Kai-sama ^_~
BTW, Wikipedia has a good explanation of those suffixes here. I really love that one sentence in the "-sama" part:
Sama is also often used for people considered to have some high ability or be particularly attractive.

Um, I guess that fits. Kai-sama <3

And the way he kept mixing the two verses of "Send me a sign" into one cuz he apparently forgot how the first one went while he was in the middle of it... awww ^_^;;;

BTW: I had to re-encode the video cuz it was a .wmv file and didn't let me skip through it (Argh!) let alone open it in VirtualDub to make screenshots. So I had to dig out my good, old Canoups ProCoder and it took the bloody thing more than an hour to make a usable .avi out of that damned .wmv =_= Well, at least that allowed me to make a screen shot of the song title and find out its Romanization ^_^

And not only that...

And before I forget it, I once again thank [livejournal.com profile] arrys_girlie for uploading this video, it SO made my day, seriously ^_^
I had actually watched that before I witnessed Kai singing "Kojo no tsuki" and thereby turning me into a fangirling mess for the rest of the afternoon, but I only just remembered that I diid want to say some things about that one as well.

The first thing that struck me was Michi's English. I wouldn't have thought that it was that good, especially pronounciation-wise O_O He also seemed like a very, very nice guy. Unfortunately, that "Metal is boring" attitude is already present here, so that did hurt somehow. And then, saying he doesn't look good would be an utter lie. I mean, if in some parallel world I had the choice between him and Kai, I still wouldn't hesitate for even a second. But still, he's pleasant to look at as well, ehe ^^ And then, I wouldn't like the Kichi* concept if I thought he was ugly, right?
And then, what exactly is the colour of his eyes? They seemed to be greyish, but I could be wrong O.o
Summary: If Michi hadn't changed that much, I'd proably like him a lot. Such a shame.... Le sigh.

* Kichi = short for the pairing Kai Hansen/Michael Kiske. I guess that's offical now, right, [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde? Sounds cute ^_^

It looks like I haven't been wrong about Weiki, though. To me, he still is a stupid jerk X_X

Last thing for today!

My fave Kichi pic! )
