I didn't know that Helloween did a whole album (and, in fact, an additional EP) with Kai doing the vocals O_O;;; I thought that they only got into business as soon as that stupid bastard Michael Kiske joined them.
Well, finally, amazon Germany told me otherwise *lol*
So now I'm having fun listening to Kai when he was like, my age ^_^ And I don't really know what to say. It's really interesting ("Kai, is that really you?" *lol*) and he DOES get better and better as the thing (compilation of both EP and album ) goes on. And then, I almost fell off my chair during the spoken parts of "Victim of fate". God, that guy SO needs to do professional voice acting *lol* After "Blood religion", I keep imagining him doing Alucard of Hellsing or any other vampire, really. Either that or Tobi (or someone else, for that matter) needs to do another Metal Opera thingy and get Kai to play a villain. That's be teh coolest thing evah *drools*
And even though this is Power Metal as it was twenty years ago, I kinda do understand why so many people still love that stuff these days. "Phantoms of death" for example. That one has such a beautiful keyboard part in it <3 Okay, the lyrics are A BIT stupid, but well. Kai was only in his early twenties back then, and I don't think I'd be able to do much better.
Memo to self: Stop looking at Metal magazines at the newsstand. You'll only find out things you never wanted to know.
Why this, you ask? Well, things went like this: I grabbed some Metal magazine - dunno which one it was - and had a quick look at the Gamma Ray live report that was in there. I just skipped through the article, but there were two things I did notice:
1. Kai had a flu (dunno which concert that was but I suppose one of the earlier ones) and screwed up really badly, vocal-wise. Poor cutie =_=
2. The band actually had a fight or something, at least the atmosphere must've been really terrible after that concert, and that was mainly because Dan was angry.
Now I dunno if those two things are related in any direct way - mind you, they appeared in the same paragraph - but if they are, I don't like it. Baka Dan for being like that. He's a drummer, what does he know about the problems of a vocalist, eh? >:O And I'm kinda sorry for Kai for being forced to go on stage sing even though he's sick and then having to cope with a reaction like this *pat pats kawaii band leader*
On a stupid note: If the Rays ever need first aid or something like that, I hope they know where to reach me ^_^;;;; [/stupid]
Kinda reminds me of the "carrying Tobi out of the venue after a heavy party" thing XD
Well, enough Metal rambling for today. I now need to put that Jericho thing onto my beloved mp3 player and then it's off to bed. Nah, not going to sleep just yet. I just wanna write up some ideas I had during the day, and I prefer a comfy place for doing stuff like that, ehe =)
