Meeresfrüchte: die (Pl.) (zusammen zubereitete) Kleinfische, Muscheln, Krebse usw. "Pizza mit Meeresfrüchten"
(From my German dictionary, aka "Deutsches Wörterbuch")

It's interesting that a lot of Germans - especially those who have never learned a second language - believe their language to be the richest in vocabulary, the most poetic and logical one in the world. But when you get confronted with languages like English and Japanese, you realize that things are not as easy as they seem.

Example: Why the heck do we Germans call seafood "Meeresfrüchte" - fruit of the sea? They're not fruit = plants, but animals. How can anyone in their right mind come up with a term like this? I never thought "Oh, what a nice fruit" when I saw a shell or a lobster °_°
Hey, isn't there a chewing gum called "Juicy Fruit"? Next, someone is gonna invent a new product called "Sea Fruit" and that might just as well taste like crab, for all the logic out dear German language seems to have XD

Conclusions. One: Learning new languages tends to show weaknesses and strengths of your mother tongue. Some people I know could really need something like that ~_~

Two: Being German sucks big time. Being a German who speaks English is quite ok, actually ^_^;;;
... instead of just this crappy 768 k ADSL line.
What is it this time, you ask? Well, I just found them. They have DVD rips, and among them some things I either have but in a bad version (like Monty Python's Flying Circus and Blackadder) or that I never got my hands on, like some of the Blackadder specials, Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl or those two Michael Palin documentaries. Yes, I'm talking about "Pole to Pole" and "Around the World in 80 Days". I don't need "Sahara" cuz I own the DVD. Yeah, that's right, I bought it via amazon.de (Hooray for importing ^_^) in January 2003 and I love it! I even got hun to watch it with me and I think he kinda liked it, too XD
Now, those files are annoyingly large (We're talking about several Gigabytes here) and their tracker seems to be quite slow. If I don't get hun to D/L some of that stuff for me, I'm doomed. But hey, he messed up on that Edguy perfrmance so maybe he'll get me a couple of things to make up for it, heh. Think I might try to download the smaller things (around 700 MB) myself and leave the rest to him. If he agrees, that is...
And now, I'm waiting for an email from those bloody Art Worx people. They are the ones who support bands like Edguy and Avantasia (no band, but a project, I know...) by manufacturing merchandise like shirts for them. They have a special sale with some old stuff that I thought is not available anymore cuz it's... well, old ^_^;;; Oh dear, their website is so full of typos - both in German and English, I usually check both languages if available - that it hurts my brain. They're even worse than Nuclear Blast themselves, and that's saying somewhat *lol*
Anyway, they have shirts of both Avantasia part 1 and 2 for less than 10€. Wow :D The part 2 one even has cute Tobi and three of his co-singers (I still can't say who is who -_-) on the back. Now, my problem is that the page says these are "available soon" (or "avaiable soon", to be exact *eek*) and I want to know what exactly this means. Y'know, I don't want to pay more than 20 bucks for their stuff without knowing when I can expect it to reach me.
But still, that's some bargain. Usually, those shirts go for at least 15€. Okay, I'll have to order something small in addition to reach that fucking order limit of 20€ (There it is again, the bad pattern X_x) but then, I've always wanted a funny sticker for my door ^_^ So let's hope those Art Worx people do decide to work and answer my danm mail. And in the meantime, I'm gonna sing a bit...

Oh, walking on my own
When I'm broken and alone
I may feel you from inside
From the other side of life
