The thing those two gadgets - which, BTW, are some 15 years apart from each other in tech history - use the same type of CPU called Zilog Z80.
Well, it's not all that surprising since the Z80 is one of the most common processors in the world. I mean, those little buggers are everywhere. There might even be one in your fax, calculator or answering machine ^_~
What's fun as well is the fact that the Z80 inside the mp3 players runs four to fifteen (!) times faster than the one used in everyone's favourite classic handheld O_o
And BTW: Yes, that IS a good old first-generation Game Boy. It's mine and I have no idea whether it still works. I just forced him outta the closet for the photoshoot ;)



Apart from that, CD 2 of "Star Trek: Borg" finally completed. Still need to play it, though ^_^;;;
