Okay, sad story short: My laptop doesn't work anymore. We suppose something inside got loosened and someone knowledgeable needs to open it up and look at the poor thing. Dammit, I really hope nothing got damaged, cuz that'd be shit indeed *scared*
But hey, I won't get mad now, cuz I already did that quite extensively last night. And subsequently I only slept for like, three hours. Well, guess I'll just run the "mindless optimism" program for now and pretend Kan-chan's on holiday or summat -_-
Well, believe it or not, there's been good stuff today as well.
At 9:30 AM, mum, bro (who's got two weeks of school holidays now, whee ^_^) set off for yet another morning of eating out for breakfast and doing crazy window shopping. Which, of course, was extremely wacky *lol* And then, we entered this electronics/mulitimedia store. Bro and I checked the section containing the Heavy Metal stuff and saw some real gems there. Like, limited stuff (and I mean REALLY limited, ask bro for details ^_~) and some albums for incredibly cheap prices. But then, some were ridiculously expensive, and you couldn't even make out a logical pattern in that =_= Anway, the first thing I looked for was Gamma Ray music. I marvelled at the cover of "Majestic" for a moment because it looks really cool. And then it hit me. "Somewhere out in Space" for 9.99€? I asked mum to lend me that and simply grabbed it because this looked like a real opportunity, what with that nice sticker it had.
Okay, that sticker kinda scared me, as it did not only promise "Return to fantasy" (which is the "Normal" bonus track), but also "Viuctim of changes" and - drumroll - "Miracle" (For me, one of the most beautiful GR songs ever) O_O And then, neither the backcover nor the CD itself had ANY of those printed on them, which was even scarier.
Well, I figured, you just have to listen to the CD to be sure what's on it. Of couse, that's what I did. And guess what? It. Is. All. There. And I couldn't be happier ^_^
"Miracle" is one of those songs that are so good that you could almost call them evil. It got me crying within seconds, even when I listened to it for the VERY FIRST TIME. The melody is just too beautiful. And I really love that bit near the end where... No, wait, maybe I better keep that stuff for the actual review XD
OMG, listening to "Somewhere out in Space" in all its CDA glory is simply amazing. Of course, now I gotta have the following albums as well ("Powerplant", my beloved fave "New World Order" and "Majestic"). But in the age of eBay, that might even be possible without getting ALL broke =)
And then, it's so much cooler to write reviews if you own the actual CD ^_^;;;
BTW, I saw some scans of the "Majestic" booklet yesterday, and the pic of Kai on page one really surprised me. The guy used black eye liner again *stares* I read about some concert where he did that and the person who wrote that review really wasn't very happy about it, to say the least. Well, at first I found it a bit weird, too, but after looking at it a couple of times, I thought "Actually, it doesn't look THAT bad. And then, I have to like it cuz I don't have a bit of taste anyway". So there. I like it. And I want the album to do a decent scan of it. Yeah XD
