I think this easily qualifies for "Most obscure album of the year".

Puncolle ~Voice Actresses' Legendary Punk Songs Collection ~

I swear I'm not kidding - It's a CD full of seiyuu-kawaiified Punk classics!
If you ever wanted to hear a chibi choir going "Sex... and violence"... No wait, I don't think anyone would want to hear that XDDDD
Anyway.
Even though it's only 400x400 px big, I put the cover under a cut because...

... because... )

Now, for those of you who actually want to torture themselves by listening to the CD; the original torrent is here.
I also threw the thing onto Megaupload here.

Enjoy... or not ^_~

This entry was brought to you by my -M-/Mathieu Chédid/weird music icon :D
So I knocked myself out with Tim Burton movies yesterday. First, I re-watched "Corpse Bride", and then I saw its predecessor (not really, but y'know) for the first time in about ten years.

I gotta say I remembered quite a lot from back when I watched the movie in German.
But now I'm starting to despise the dub, especially because Sally was apparenty voiced by Nina Hagen. Holy... I mean... What were they thinking? Casting a loud, stupid, crazy (in the bad way), deluded and obnoxious hag like her (Can you tell how I don't really like her? XDD) to play such a sweet character? And I'm sure they've redone the choir bits with like, four people. Because it's cheaper. Ugh. Ths country's entertainment industry is rotten to the core, with only a few notable exceptions.

Anyway. Nightmare.
It combines two of my favourite things - Gothic/horror stuff and Christmas.
Needless to say, I'd love it even if it wasn't such a wonderful, artsy movie that leaves a huge impact as only very few other film can ^_~

But my favourite aspect of the thing remains...
Danny Elfman. What a singer... what a voice *swoons*
He was great as Bonejangles in "Corpse Bride" and he's an awesome composer. But doing all that marvelous singing for Jack just killed me. Ded.
<3 <3 <3

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi hasn't seen it yet. Might force him to when it's the season. Though, by then, I'm sure I'll know it word by word ;) Also, I'm worried about the musical aspects. There were only four songs in "Corpse Bride", but here, most dialoge is sung. And I have a certain suspicion that he won't like that all that much O_o

I want a new purse. The old one is boring and butt-ugly. Most purses are leather (bleh), plastic (no way) or some fabric. However, I'd prefer soemthing unusual. What about this? Yep, it's plush ^_^
1. Do you download music not from the popular genres of Top 40, pop, rock, rap, dance, R&B, or country?
I guess most of my music - downloaded or not - is from non-popular genres, and I'm pretty happy about that, thankyouverymuch XD

2. Are there any musicians for whom you've downloaded a significant amount of their material yet own few or none of their albums?
Certainly.

3. Have you ever enjoyed a downloaded album so much that you went and bought the physical album?
Sure. One of my favourite examples is an album called "Hellfire Club" by some German band called Edguy.

4. How many different ways of playing music do you own (such as radio, stereo system, computer, Walkman/Discman, mp3 player, mp3-ready phone, etc.)?
Computer, laptop, two mp3 players, phone. I don't own a stereo any more ;)

5. Do you still have and/or play a favorite vinyl album, cassette tape, or 8-track tape?
Nope.

Aaand some old ones! )

Whew. I think that was enough FF to last me a lifetime. Or, maybe, not ^_~

I just drained my writing powers a great deal by creating that long and angry rant on my German blog (apporopiately titled "Eurpoes' worst losers"), so just have a few notes:

- Amazing show, the intro (feat. Lordi, wolves, monsters and TONS of fire) was the coolest thing ever. I love Finland. Kiitos for that ^_~

- The level of music quality was rather high and there were surprisingly little acts relying on ass, boobs and naked skin O_o

- Serbia was awesome and fully deserved their victory. I voted for them, Twice. Such a fantatic voice and OMFG what a passionate song.

- I adored the little movies that were shown in between the performances. I think this is the first time some of them made me laugh. Lovely job <3

- Ukraine was funny even though they need to practise how to count in German XD

- Sorry, my precious friends from the UK, but there's bad songs and there's awful songs. Your entry was off the scale ;_;

- We don't need a change of rules. Serbia didn't win cuz the other Eastern Europen countries voted for them. They won cuz everyone voted for them. If you take the non-Western countries out of the equation, rank 1 and 2 stay the same.

- I despise this country and its media for bashing the contest, its rules and the winner like this. Just because we did badly. Shame on you.

Leave a comment and I'll assign you a letter. You are to list your ten favorite songs that begin with that letter in your journal.
[livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde gave me the letter K.

Okay, I gotta cheat on this. I'll make two lists, one with anime and one with non-anime songs. And I'm gonna comment on them as well. So, prepare to be bored senseless :3

Music talk, how I love thee... )

Also, we're now able to restart our router via remote control.
This isn't as unusual as it sounds since we use a remote control to control the light and various other things. Geeks? Who, us? XD

Eddie Murphy lost his voice. His German voice, to be precise. Yes, that's right. Randolf Kronberg, who voiced Eddie since like, forever, died on March 2.
Holy hell, we got ourselves another big hole in the dubbing scene.
The last huge one was when Elisabeth Volkmann (a.k.a. Marge Simpson) passed away last year. They found someone new but most Simpsons fans loathe her because she's a crappy choice indeed >:|

Also, I wanna see This Film Is Not Yet Rated (Note that each of the six words is a different link concerning the movie! Ha, I rule >:D). Badly.

If you want to see Stephen Colbert switching in and out of character, download this. Wow. On the one hand, he scares me a bit. On the other, he seems like such a sweet, friendly guy *swoons*

What? There's a new Precure anime? Again? It's called "Yes! Precure 5" (ANN AnimeNfo) Crap, I haven't even completed the first one yet.! Anime producers, I hate you. Nah, not really. Guess I'm just toooo slooooow XD

And then... Is it just me or is Robbie Williams about to turn into the third Pet Shop Boy?
Don't get me wrong, I think them working together is pretty damn cool. "She's Madonna" is a good song even though the bridge sounds an awful lot like that in "Being boring". But I suggest everyone who likes some nice elctronic tunes check out "We're the Pet Shop Boys" (it's on Robbie's new album "Rudebox"). That one simply rules :D

Finally, a nice take on the infamous "Responsible Drinking" episode of Even Stevphen. As much as I adore Jon/Stephen, Stephen/Steve does indeed need more love. And I'm not even mentioning Jon/John here ^_~

Old

( Oct. 30th, 2006 07:23 pm)
I know, this is not new, but anyway.
Metal is a wonderful type of music. It changed some major aspects in my life, makes me happy and sometimes cry tears of joy.

But when I listen to Pet Shop Boys songs - both old and new, except maybe for "Release" - I'm just as happy. Some examples:
"New York City boy", which kicked me into falling in love with their sound and subsequently buying "Nightlife", my first PSB album.
"Opportunities (let's make lots of money)", a song I listened to every morning for some time. I almost died while listening to it again today T_____T
"Single-bilingual", which is just... cool.
I could add more, but that'd just be boring, I guess XD
Anyway, I'm doing a PSB listening session right now. Ah, the nostalgia...

And if people call me [insert bad name(s) of choice] because I don't like a piece of music because it's from a certain genre but because it's a good piece of music and triggers soemthing inside me... well, I can but laugh about them.

BTW, the Pets just released their first ever (!) live album, called "Concrete". OMFG. It features some of their best songs performed with a full orchestra O_o The live version of "Integral" almost made me faint. Neil is even trying to make some funny comments *ish scared* They also invited Robbie Williams to sing "Jealousy" =)

Oh, and the German speakers might want to support this campaign.
Cool!
There actually are some real ones on there. Links and thoughts in this entry :D
I read a number of comments that went like "WTF? I expected some Asian dude"
Somehow, I don't get people who listen to a certain genre of music without even knwing the most basic facts about it. Such as 99.9% of the people doing Eurobeat are Italian.
Jeez!

Anway.
On to the videos.

SEB Vol. 170 artitsts & producers short messages
These are... weird. Trashy and utterly strange, like the whole genre.
Luckily, most of the people were thoughtful and at least TRIED to speak English. It would've been fun to have all of the messages in Italian with Japanese subtitles... not XD
On the other hand, if you listen to Baby Bazooka's words, the message is simple enough that I almost understand it so maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyway ;)
And then, I'm happy that I knew how Franz Tornado looks before, because he must be truly scary if you see him for the first time.
Oh, and I loved Go2 playing acoustic guitars ^_^

Niko - Night of fire 2004
Nice body... if ony has face wasn't that appalling =_= Oh, and the remix is terrible.

Dave & Domino - Sunshine in your eyes
I wonder whether this thing should be filed under self-irony. Because that's what comes to my mind when I see an Italian musician sitting on a tiny Vespa and singing *facepalm*

Go2 - Not for sale
I liked that one comment saying "...this video makes them look like tards...". Well, it was to be expected, wasn't it? Actually, the video comes quite close to what I expected. And wow. Christian (ACE) has long hair in that one O_O

Okay, that's enough Eurobeat for a while. Er... Unless I get ID4 D Selection 3 soon ;)

Last night, I watched "The lost boys". Funnily enough, that was also the episode that was broadcast on German TV on the same day. The German title is simply "The enzyme". Ow. That is so, SO typical. So BLOODY umimaginative =_=

Apart from that, I just came back from "Critical Mass". The episode where Teyla sings. (The song is called "Beyond the night", for those who didn't pay attention during the end credits ^_~)
That thing is evil *sniffle*
And no, I don't think it's cheesy. Not at all. Maybe it's because I love SG-A so much that I'll take anything from them?
The only thing is that the playback looked not exactly realistic.
Though I'll kick anyone who claims Rachel didn't sing the song herself because she DID >:O
I also have a piece of trivia. I read it on the official Stargate blog. They had to record the vocals twice because the firat time, Rachel was too good O_o

BTW, lyrics (ironically found on a German SG-A board):
Beyond the night, a rising sun
Beyond the night, the battle’s won
The battle’s won

Fear and shame now in the past
Pain and sorrow gone at last
Gone at last

Circle renewed, peace will be found
Beyond the night on sacred ground

River flows, led by the wind
First new breath, our journey begins
Our journey begins

*sigh*

Irgendetwas bleibt, irgendetwas bleibt – ganz sicher zurück
Als Zeugnis für – eine Hoffnung, ein zu früh versprochenes Glück
Der Traum ist aus – er blieb nur für einen kurzen Augenblick
Doch es bleibt, etwas bleibt, immer bleibt etwas zurück

... do both Farin Urlaub and Bela B. have Japanese voice samples on their respective solo albums???
"Bingo" rocks, though. Talk of charming voices ;)
Huh? A Bernd das Brot reference as well? Neat *chuckles*

Yesterday was our" cellphone losing day".
Bro came home from the graduation results celebrations and the first thing mum had to do was to make a call to deactivate his SIM card. Luckily, it would've expired in two weeks anyway so the loss isn't that bad. While we were still discussing this, dad suddenly became very nervous. Mum was like "Oh no, not yours as well, right?" But unfortunately, it was true O_o Dad explained that the thing might've slipped outta his stupid bag. After searching on his own for quite some time, he finally gave in and let mum search for it. Bro and I were sitting in the dining room and I said to him "If mum manages to find the thing, she'll be smug like hell for the rest of the day". And guess what? Two minutes later, we heard dad say "Thanks" and I nearly fell off my chair. It turned out that the thing had fallen into the flowers in front of our house and that was why dad didn't hear it hitting the ground. BTW, the next thing he did was to throw away his bag *lol*

[livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde updated the pic site once again. My fave:

Eeee, he's so tiny but yet SO BLOODY ADORABLE. And that smile, OHMYGOD *squees*
Tonight, the Pet Shop Boys will be on TV total (popular and somewhat infamous late-night comedy show). I hope that'll be fun cuz I read they're coming to talk as well, not only to perform "I'm with stupid". Wheee~! Looking forward to that, provided I'm still alive at 10-something PM X_X

Tomorrow, it's planned for mum and me to go out and buy... a TV O_O So much for that cliché of people buying new tellies just to watch the World Cup as in our case, it's true. This one is gonna replace the one we use outside which is probably older than me by now ;)

I also figured it's time to change my IRC alias. The old one ([KnO]Jessy) became obsolete about a year ago when my site KnO ceased to exist.
So if you happen to look for me, search for Blank|Jessy.
Wow, I'm a Blank now *giggles* Now I just need my vhost (heavy.metal.is.the.law) back and I'll be a happy IRC bunny ;)

(Beware, non-Metal stuff ahead ^_~)

So... the new PSB album. It's called "Fundamental" - interesting title, eh? And it seems to be as political as the title suggests, even though I yet have to reflect on the lyrics to be able to say something about that. Sound-wise, it's mainly back to the roots, which is good indeed. On the other hand, the usage of e-guitars (real or not) on some tracks kinda scared me. In a good way. Definite highlights for now: "I'm with stupid", the first single (probably the most PSB-ish song of the new millennium, and that's saying summat) and "Integral" (Killed me in a matter of seconds, should have been the next single, damnit!!!).

Anyway, I think the thing needs a few more listening sessions. But the tendency goes towards "thumbs-up". Good they finally stopped doing weird musicals and soundtracks for silentt films and went back to what they're best at.

And, to end this entry in an appropiate manner, my quote of the day (by Neil Tennant, of course!):
It's difficult writing good rubbish.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] rdyfrde, I hope the thing about your computer works out somehow and it's not too bad *crosses fingers* Wish I could help, I surely would *sigh*

€dit: And... WHY ON EARTH are the PSB wearing top hats on the "Fundamnetal" promo shots? Trying to copy that hot guy who dared to cover one of your songs and turned into a Metal track? XD

The Pet Shop Boys, my favourite non-Metal band (of whom I probably have every damn CD, including a few doubles X_X) released a new single called "I'm with stupid".
Very beautiful and a lot closer to their classic stuff. I mean, I did like all the analogue guitar and drum stuff that was featued on their last real album "Release", but a lot of other people apparently didn't.
And their new album (called "Fundamental" and thus continuing their one-word album name scheme) will be released on May 19. Where have I been? ^_^;;; Well, at least now I have a presumably great piece of music to look forward to *bounces*
Someone just MIGHT do a few PSB listening sessions this week ;)

Bro and I were talking about operating systems after dinner. It turned out that both our new computers might end up having like, four different OS installed on 'em *lol*
I have to make up some kind of partitioning plan soon. At least I already got myself a copy of Partition Magic 8.05.
Which reminds me... Bro told me that today, a friend of his was trying to chop up (the virtual way only, mind you XD) his HDD using a trial version of Partition Magic *rofl* Why's that so funny, you ask? Well, a trial version of said tool can basically do... well, nothig except look fancy. Its GUI works but the actual partitioning functions are disabled. THAT'S what's funny ^_~

Have I told you about bro's barebone specs? He finally managed to order his stuff, too, and if all goes well, those might show up here tomorrow as well.

So... his CPU is a 3700+, which is slightly better than mine. HDD and DVD-RAM are the same. Can't remember what mainboard he got, but the case is this. Pretty ^_^

( Apr. 20th, 2006 05:56 pm)
When the last eagle flies over the last crumbling mountain
And the last lion roars at the last dusty fountain
In the shadow of the forest though she may be old and worn
They will stare unbelieving at the last unicorn

When the first breath of winter through the flowers is icing
And you look to the north and a pale moon is rising
And it seems like all is dying and would leave the world to mourn
In the distance hear the laughter of the last unicorn

I’m alive, I’m alive

When the last moon is cast over the last star of morning
And the future has passed without even a last desperate warning
Then look into the sky where through the clouds a path is torn
Look and see her how she sparkles, it’s the last unicorn

I’m alive, I’m alive

Feels streange, especially cuz I'm now able to understand what the lyrics mean.
But even back then, I felt that it must be really beautiful. And it is.
Okay, the animation did a lot to make you understand as well. They pictured a lot of the stuff that's in there.
Awww, so wonderful...

People who know me know that I tend to cry over music. Not because it's sad or anything, just because to me, melodies are an extremely, extremely emotional thing. Actually, I tend to get emotional over tunes that are not sad at all.
Anyway.
One of the first songs that made me cry - and probably will continue to do so for all eternity - is "The last unicorn".
I loved that movie when I was a kid even though some parts scared me to death and I don't think I understood a lot of what it's about.

But I liked the skeleton (I read the English voice was doine by Rene Auberjonois [Odo in DS9] - Woah!) ;) And the music was good.
For the German version, they did at least one strange thing. One or two of the songs are neither dubbed nor subtitled. Instead, they make the German vocie actors speak on top of the English stuff that's being sung. No kidding. Stupid, cheap, ridiculous.
But I think I can make an elaborate guess on why they did that.
Back then, Disney was the only thing in animation that was really big. And The last Unicorn wasn't Disney so it might have had pretty low priority (and budget) when being dubbed. Though, some of the German voice actors were pretty good, and one or two even quite famous. Still, that over-dubbing thing is inexcusable and I've never seen anything like it in any other movie. Rawr.

And now I sit here and wonder why I never bought the thing on DVD. I mean, that movie might be good when dubbed, but I guess watching the original would be even cooler.
BTW, did you know that Christopher Lee voiced King Haggard in the German version as well? Well, that explains the accent XD Good job, though, seeing how German is bloody difficult ;)

And then, what's with Madonna? I never really liked her or her music, in fact, some of the more recent songs made me wonder about whether she's trying to make fun of her fans. And now she put out the second song in a row that I simply adore to death. Something's very wrong here O_O
(Though, someone should've told her that she's completely mispronouncing the "Ich bin traurig" (I'm sad) part in the intro XD)
