( Nov. 13th, 2008 11:17 pm)
1787 words for today. And still no writer's block in sight.
We'll see how much I'll get done during the next few days...
Packing's gonna be such a rush tomorrow. I elave at about 7 PM, but it still feels like I'll never get anything done until then.
ARGH.

22822 / 50000 words. 46% done!

( Nov. 12th, 2008 11:19 pm)
2012 words for today. Yay ^^
As expected, the 20,000 word barrier is no more.
I've finally arrived at a rather important part of the plot.
Also, the third of my main characters is in serious trouble and I have no idea how to get him out ;)

21035 / 50000 words. 42% done!

ETA: Okay, figured out a way to get my MC #3 out of trouble. Pretty cheap, but whatever works, works ;)

( Nov. 11th, 2008 11:33 pm)
Even though I never seem to be able to get myself to write before 8 PM, I somehow keep meeting my daily requirement.
I think I'm a writing alien or something XDD
Anyway, today, I managed to add 1950 words, which means...

19023 / 50000 words. 38% done!

And tomorrow, the 20k mark is gonna fall ^____^
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo - Insanity)
( Nov. 10th, 2008 11:19 pm)
Despite my nose hurting, eyes stinging and me feeling terribly tired, I managed to crank out nearly 1900 words.
And pretty decent words they are, too :D
I'm a hero... not *lol*
Anyway, new wordcount as of tonight:

17078 / 50000 words. 34% done!

Okay, so after writing about a thousand words right after midnight, I added another 900 tonight, brining my total word count to...

15222 / 50000 words. 30% done!

I even managed to start on a strand of the plot that was giving me minor trouble. Whee!

So, the second week of NaNoWriMo 2008 has officially started. And I'm doing better than ever, having already written about a thousand words since midnight. I'm really starting to get into the story, and I still can't help but love it to little green and purple bits.
Y'know, before starting my NaNo project, I didn't think I could ever do decent original fiction or, in fact, any original fiction at all. I was afraid to be stuck to fan fiction forever.
Now, I certainly mean no disrespect to fan fiction. Hell, no! Some of my best friends are fanfic writers, and damn talented ones at that. Hell, I wish I could do with words what a lot of them can!
Still, I myself always wanted to be able to write original fiction in addition to fanfic stuff. But I kinda felt I needed the "real" people in order to be able to relate to the characters enough to make the story good.
Suddenly, I feel so much in touch with some of my main - original - characters it's almost silly. And writing scene after scene is at least as fun as watching a good movie.
I also keep getting hit with ideas upon ideas to keep the plot going, and some of the scenes I'm planning to do are so emotional and beautiful, they bring actual tears to my eyes. Wow, writing those will be weird ;)
Anyway. Woah. This is... SO awesome.
I think doing NaNo this year was one of the five best ideas I ever had in my life.

Er... yeah ^_^;;;
Ridiculously happy Jessy updating her wordcount to show off and then signing off for today XD

Is my internet connection being an iudiot or is anyone else's yWriter too stupid to update itself?
When I open the "Check for new version" dialogue and let it download the new installation exe, it does so, but then says "Downloaded file is incomplete - Please retry".
After trying half a dozen times, always getting the same message, I gave up, grabbed the file from the website and ran the setup manually. Geez :|

Wow, the Ashens DVD is available now! It even comes with a free lanyard (OMG bad insider joke FTW XDDD)! And it's only 12.50€! I hope I'll be able to grab one next month *prays*
(And I'm SO getting it signed ^___^)

ETA: Final NaNo wordcount for November 8:

13484 / 50000 words. 27% done!

Wow, I'm not even behind O_O I actually managed to do 931 words, which isn't too bad, seeing how I typed most of them using my middle instead of my index finger. I had a number of good ideas last night, so I'll go all out again tomorrow!
Now, don't be worried or anything. it's really nothing bad.
I just hit my left index finger with the big Japanese knife while cutting onions. Bled like hell but the cut isn't too deep. I can still type using my middle finger, but it's much slower than usual. Still, I'd rather keep the thing still for 24 to 48 hours. I won't lose more than half a day, word count wise, and I'll try my damndest to catch up on Sunday and during the week.
Also, since the cut is on my left hand, I might just do some brainstorming and write down some ideas on a sheet of paper. That might be useful to get me back on track as quickly as possible and not get stuck during the infamous week two ;)
So, nothing's lost yet. I'm not letting a stupid knife cut get in the way of winning my first ever NaNoWriMo! See you tomorrow ^^
2036 words!

12553 / 50000 words. 25% done!

Wow, I managed to finsih a quarter of the goal already!

Final word: "Look".
(On an amusing note: I'm not even sure yet what we're supposed to look AT *lol* It just fit so well into the whole thing, switching from a scene of casual taking and joking to something much more exciting. Knowing my novel, it'll come up with something reeeaaally cool tomorrow XD)

My beloved NaNo project also randomly decided to change its title. But, looking at the new one, it was totally right about it because it does sound much better than the old one ^_~
... now I have to redo my book cover *wanders off, grumbling*
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo - 5th of November)
( Nov. 5th, 2008 10:45 pm)
A whopping 2103 words for today!
According to my icon, I should be at 83358 words. Well, let's see...

10517 / 50000 words. 21% done!

Nice! I'm still going strong. However, I heard that week two usually is when it gets really hard, so we'll see how things go on...

I even left out a scene because there was a change of viewpoint and I was just so inside the other character that I decided to skip it and leave it for tomorrow. But I'm looking forward to writing it because a) I'm still not quite sure what'll happen in it, and b) I think it mgiht be rather violent *lol*
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo 2008 - jessybxx)
( Nov. 4th, 2008 11:16 pm)
Once again, I managed to meet the daily requirement. 1869 words added which means...

8414 / 50000 words. 17% done!

The story is seriously starting to take matters into its own hands.Which is good because my characters hanve a tendency to come up with stuff that's much cooler than anything I ever could ;)
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo - Bangin')
( Nov. 3rd, 2008 11:43 pm)
Today, I wrote 1873 words which brings my total wordcount up to...

6545 / 50000 words. 13% done!
Wow, I wouldn't have believed I'd get this far because I started far, FAR too late. But damn, that does fel good ^_^
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo 2008 - #2)
( Nov. 2nd, 2008 05:50 pm)
Right now, I'm at 4.000 words, precisely. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to add more, but I guess it's dinnertime ^^
(Update and final wordcount for today will be added to this entry later!)

ETA: Final count for November 2:

4672 / 50000 words. 9% done!
(That makes 2073 words for today. Go me!)
jessybxx: (NaNoWriMo 2008 - #1)
( Nov. 1st, 2008 11:01 pm)
Since the site is as good as unreachable and I'm therefore unable to update my wordcount...
2126 words.
So far.
There's still an hour left before midnight ;)
(Yes, I'm crazy XD)

ETA: Final count for November 1:

2599 / 50000 words. 5% done!
jessybxx: (Anime - Gothic girl #3)
( Nov. 1st, 2008 12:33 am)
Okay, a humble 553 words so far. But I'll get on with it tomorrow. And I mgiht also work on a book cover. How's that for procrastionation? *lol*
Final sentence, just this once (I won't be doing that every day, but I just love this one, so I figured - What the heck?!):
"He screamed, but no one seemed to notice or care."

Good luck, fellow WriMos. I wish everyone a great, fun and successful November. We can do this ^_^

For now, nighty night *drops on bed, snoring happily*
Can't wait, can't wait!
I don't plan on writing 1667 words before going to bed. But waiting for the second the clock turns to 0 and then starting to type should still be a cool experience ^_~

ETA: Haha, the site's already lagging like crazy XD

I haven't talked about my novel yet, have I?
Well, bascially, I've had two decent ideas lately. Both of them are based on weird dreams I've had. Actually, those two dreams happened only a couple of days apart from each other.
Both times, when I woke up, I desperately tried to cling to the fragments I remnembered and somehow managed to turn them into scenarios that other people might be able to udnerstand.

The first one: "Mizubito". It is a sci fi kinda thing. Pretty psychological, I guess.
Unfortunately, I can't say anything more about it, since even translating the title would be one hell of a spoiler.
Also, I don't really have concrete characters, just a vague plot and a (at least to me) very gripping scenario.
On the other hand, I'd probably be able to squeeze lots of words out of it since it's still rather shapeless so I can stuff things in everywhere.

The second one originally looked more like a short story thing to me. The tentative title is "The Place Behind". It's a dark fantasy story with an atmosphere so tight, it's almost too much.
For this, I actually have at least three main characters more or less fleshed out. I even did some research on the names so they make some sense (but certainly not at first glance, I'm not going Mary Sue here *lol*).
But like I said, at first, this didn't feel like an idea big enough for a novel. At all. However, I'm just to terribly attached to the whole thing that I might be able to expand it to something longer. Also, since I plan to go all out on descriptions and flashbacks... who knows? Maybe it'll work.

So, yeah... For now, "The Place Behind" it is.

By the way, they're both original stories. No idea why I keep having inspirations for things that are not fan fiction, but who cares? As long as it's good</> bearable...
- Finding a specimen of those at 6.66€
- The arrival of this
- The fact that Camp LOLcat (Our little 3-piece Wacken group) will be complete in 2009 as well!!!
- Soulbro telling me he expects my NaNo novel to sell millions of copies (So silly but soooo sweeeeet) XD
- [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams signing up, too (Yeah, I have three writing buddies now <3)
- Roasted chicken in the oven :D~~~
- #nipponsei releasing five OSTs they skipped so far

I... uh... will be participating in NaNoWriMo this year.
After the disaster that was Biffno 2008, I wasn't exactly motivated to even consider doing this.
Unfortunately, I was overrun by what may very well be the best idea I ever had. And instead of trying to type it up on my own, I decided to join the NaNo community for the 10th anniversary.
Go me!!!
BTW, my profile is here, I'd be happy if the other participants on my flist added me as a buddy *hint hint*
Waaahhhh, I'm all psyched now *giggles*
However, gotta do a lot of research before November 1st...
