Long but hopefully at least a bit interesting )

So there. And now... two and a half weeks of real holiday. And we'll begin with some sleeping.
*keels over and starts snoring*

( Dec. 25th, 2007 11:36 pm)
Tomorrow, we'll be getting up at 8 AM to drive down to Bavaria (which, considering the holiday traffic, will take us at least six hours).
Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get past it and so we have to attend that blasted get-together of [livejournal.com profile] yamasagis family.
I'm sure that's gonna be lovely :|
Oh well, at least we'll have a lot of peace and quiet after that. And on January 11, [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams will be here :D
I'll be taking my DS with me, but I'm not sure whether I'll find the time to play. In the car is a no-go because I get carsick really quickly. Damn. I'm surely gonna miss my animals :(
Aaanyway. We'll be back Thursday afternoon - hopefully. See you then!

*crawls out from mountain of math problems* OH HAY. I CAN HAS SOLUTIONS NOW PLS?

Remember Ni-Juu-Ni? The IBM T22 (900 MHz - 100 MHz faster than my T21) [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi bought to use at his job?
When he was looking at brand-new ones, he suddenly asked me whether an additional 100 MHz might be of any use to me. "Why of course", I said.
To which he replied: "Then we'll swap. I hardly use Ni-Juu-Ni anyway and you need the best laptop you can get to take to uni every day"
O_O
This means I'll use the long weekend ahead of us (All Saints' Day tomorrow) to swap all the drives between the two machines (I'm even taking my DVD drive because the one in the T22 seems to have mechanical closing issues), format them and reinstall the OSes. My new T22 will be getting XP Home, firstly because Yama bought a license just for it and secondly because I've seen it on this amchine and it runs a lot more smoothly than I could've imagined.
I also ordered two new TrackPoint caps because mine is rather severely used ^_^;;;
So, yay. My third laptop in two years. WTF?! XD

Tonight, we'll have dinner at the Chinese restaurant with a friend of Yama's and his girlfirend.
And on Sunday, it's off to mum, dad and bro once again. I'm sure there'll be tons of university talk. Hee ^^

Currently, I'm waiting for the Oberhausen tickets to arrive. I odered them the moment [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams told me she'd booked the flgihts.
I also arranged for us to go meet my parents' on Saturday. This sounds weird. Never mind XD
Mum's cooking. Gonna be fun, especially seeing all of their attempts at communication in whatever language they might come up with *giggles*
So, 2008's not even here yet but there's one definitive highlight already planned. Nice, eh? ^_^

Mmh, new 'Ray promo pics *saves them to USB stick to cheer herself up during upcoming modeling methods lecture*

OMG, in about twelve hours, I'll be on my way to the airport O_O
I've packed most of my stuff, all that's left is my tech and the cosmetics stuff. Or so I believe. I'll better check and re-check again tomorrow, hehe XD
Printed out train info and my flight data.
So excited *bounces off walls*
Uh... see you all in a few days? ^_^

Visiting goth stores tends to be rather frustrating if you happen to have more than skin on your bones -_-
I swear, if my IT career fails, I'm gonna open up a chain of alternative shops for normal-sized people.
Heck, I'm not even that extraordinarily fat, I'm just somewhat above average. But I couldn't find a single piece of clothing in there if my life depended on it.
Goddammit.

However, I got a new wallet. One with a chain, I always wanted one of these. Otherwise, it's nothin' fancy, just black with white skull'n'crossbones. Oh, and it was 3.50 Euros. Awesome ^_^

Also, if the conductors are planning to go on strike next week, I'll have a fit. Right now, it's not looking like it, but the possibility's definately there.

Hi thar, 'tis me, writing from Kan-chan. I decided to power him up again after what sems like half an eternity. Thought I'd check and update whatever needs to be updated, to get him somewhat prepared for next week ^^

So, what's up around here? Not too much, I'm afraid.
[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi started his two weeks of holiday so we're mainly doing fun things together, like shopping, watching movies and playing games. I'm far into the three-digit hours on Pokémon FireRed because I'm trying to get all of my critters past level 50 before going any further ("further" meaning entering - and beating - the Pokémon mansion). Also, Diamond and Pearl seem to be breaking all sales records in Germany which is nice ^^
Speakinhg of games, we got "The Darkness". We ordererd the Austrian version, which only differs from the German one in the fact that it's not been censored into unplayability >:| Of course, the game rocks, it's creepy and violent and just all around awesome ^^ The scariest thing about it, at least considering the technicalities, is the fact that in the subway station, there's a TV on which you can actually flick the channels. But that's not all, since it's not just some random clips playing on it. You can actually watch several full movies and series on there. I swear I'm not kidding! I had to look it up or I wouldn't have believed it myself, but it's true. Well, that's Blu-Ray fer ya ;)
Speaking of Blu-Ray, we watched our first Blu-Ray movie today - "xXx" (the first one). I had missed all the chances to see it which was probably good, because this way, it was totally new to me-. Good action film, and I can't help it - I like Vin Diesel. Yeah, feel free to start making jokes now, I prolly deserve it ^_~
Anyway, the picture was brilliant, and we couldn't see any of the horizontal slowdowns we heard are to be expected with BDs. So either our eyes are too bad or those people are stupid. Dunno.
Apart from all that, we went to IKEA and bought a shoe rack. It's a LOGGA and cost 10 Euros which was damn cheap. Gotta say that [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi didn't really like IKEA before, but I think the bargain we made might have loosened his opinion just a little bit. I, on the other ahdn,m love them to bits, and always have =)

Meh. That thing about my mum is bugging me to no end. It's putting a dent in everything I do, see, read or hear. Which is not good. However, I'm not sure whether the actual solution might not be far worse than the problem itself...
... snagged from [livejournal.com profile] arachnerd

Here be questions... and answers, too XD )

It's really happening!

Germanwings are having a "200.000 summer tickets at 1 Euro each" sale right now. And so I grabbed 'em.

I'm going down there on August 8 and will be back a week later.
And what's in between? That's right! Agglutination Metal Festival in Potenza, headlined by no other than Gamma Ray. And We. Are. Going. Too. See. Them. There. Hell yeah!!!

Both tickets cost me 53.17 Euros, tax included. Awesome. That's nothing compared to last year or going by train :D

([livejournal.com profile] yamasagi is playing Burnout Revenge)
Yama: "Ah, there's nothing like a game that has Dolby Surround sound"
Jessy: "Yeah, especially when you crash into walls as often as you do"

([livejournal.com profile] yamasagi is driving around Rome in Burnout. He crashes into corners and destroys his car repeatedly)
Yama: "Damn Italy, corners everywhere"

X_x

First of all, Happy New Year everyone!!

So, what did we do so far?
Uh... nothing of significance, I'm afraid ^_^;;;

We watched a handful of movies, went shopping a couple of times, did hours of cat cuddling (<3) and worked on our Warhammer armies we got/bought for Xmas. Pics of various things later.

Also, Kan-chan is now running on an amazing 80 GB HDD. I was completely taken aback when I noticed that the laptop is suddenly completely SILENT. Before getting the new HDD, he always made a distinct humming kind of sound. We suspected that was due to some fan but turns out, it was the old HDD *gasp* Actually, we took it apart and found a small metal part that was flying around loose INSIDE the hard disk O______O
(Pics ofd that "operation" will be presented here on a later date as well)
Anywho, Kan-chan is now blazingly fast, silent as hell and seems to use up even less eletricity than before.

Apart from that, yours truly is about to buy one of these things that have four wheels and eat petrol. Yeehaa, an ador(k)able lil' motorized cutie for moi =)
Unfortnateloy, I won't be able to say anything interesting about that until I'm home at the end of the week. Still, thought you'd like to know.

Tobi is doing anohter Avantasia? OMFGguuuhhhhhh... *brain explodes*

Right. That was my little update. See you ^_^

Somehow, I forgot to take pic of PEOPLE. Uh... hit me? Please?
Anyway, here we go.

24 pics, 776 KB )

Dani took some pics during the visit at the Puntet and Lia took at least one of me.
I'll prolly post them when I get them.

( Sep. 4th, 2006 01:53 am)
I decided to do this one a little differently from the usual holiday reports.
So...

Here we go!! )

I hope I didn't forget anything important.
And if I did, there's still [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams to kick remind me ;)

Oh, and look at my chibi icon. Isn't it cute?

Pictures will follow tomorrow!

It seems like things are looking up.
Unfortunately, I'm still too lazy to write a Torino report right now. But I will, promise!!
Right now, I'll just give you piccies ^_^

The first batch of souvenirs was acquired in one of the Rock/Metal shops of Torino. Lia said they're poseurs, but you sometimes find good piccies in there.

Hot!! )

And those two were painted by Lia's best friend Dea (who, BTW, is very nice and funny) just for me *happy smile*

Cute!! )

Finally, the souvenir I got from one of the Torino candy shops. Can you spot the Sonata Arctica reference?
I present to you...

Fluffy!! )

Just a short message to tell all of you that I'm still alive :D
Currently, we're at [livejournal.com profile] silicondreamss place.
We slept fifteen hours (!) and will be going out for a beer with Dea tonight.
And we dunno when yet but they'll be taking me to the Japanese restaurant as a late bday treat. Yayyyy!!!!
Dinner at her Motty's place is planned for Wednesday (Already met her twice, BTW).
So, all's well.
Oh, and be prepared for some crazy stories once I get back ;)

[livejournal.com profile] yamasagi just wroe me a nice "introduction to Stargate Atlantis".
Why that, you ask? Well, one of my missions for the week to come will be to get [livejournal.com profile] silicondreams hooked on the greatest SciFi series since Star Trek TNG.
Now if that isn't a plan, I dunno what is ;)

And I think I'm kinda calm right now. No idea whether that'll change once it's actually Saturday, but well...
We're gonna have anice goodbye dinner today... featuring Bavarian sausage and pretzels O_o Hey, but I thought we're Westphalian! Weird *shakes head*

( Aug. 25th, 2006 05:16 pm)
Those are a bit better than the last bunch.

Cut for big-ish pics (800x640) )

BTW, I decided not to take mum's digicam with me for two reasons. a) The pics I took with my Nokia while being in Dresden were pretty good. b) I hate using other peoples' stuff. I mean, I'm always very careful, but relying on my own things is still nicer :D

( Aug. 25th, 2006 04:31 pm)
Done:

- got up SOMEWHAT early (Not half as early as I had planned but I guess I'm still dead enough =_=)
- bought new allergy pills (No risks here!)
- talked to mum and dad about the trip to Cologne airport (I'll be getting up at 3 AM. Uh... yay??)
- prepared Kan-chan
- packed most of my clothes (pants, underwear, socks, shirts, shoes)
- burnt half of the DVDs I was planning to burn
- bought something to bring down to Italy APART from ALL of the SG-A episodes that already aired (up to 3x06 "The Real World") and some anime
- ordered (and paid for) a bunch of new DVDs cuz I'm running out of the little buggers

Yet to do:

- burn the rest of the DVDs
- pack something to wear while sleeping (Still no idea what *stares at old-fashioned granny-style nighties in horror*)
- pack the secret stuff I bought :D
- pack cosemtics stuff
- pack headset
- pack rucksack (Kan-chan, Three, cellphone, wallet, flight booking certificate etc.)
- say goodbye to Yama
- Calm THE FUCK down

List of birthday pressies:

- flight tickets to Milano and back from my parents (Wheeee~!) plus 50€
- 100€ from Yama <3
- 50€ and a card from granny
- a bottle of mulled wine (!!!) and 5€ from bro
- a card from my friend Sonja
- a card from my insurance company (D'oh)
- charming bday wishes from all of my lovely friends on the 'net :D

- from myself: a bunch of new panties and tangas (all black ^_^), two bottles of black nail polish

A very interesting typo from some quiz:
If you were stuck on a dessert island, what one movie would you want to have with you to watch?

Mmh, a dessert island :P~~~ I think that's the ideal place to watch movies - candy everywhere XD

Now I've been back home for three hours (Miss Yama and the kitties T____T) and will be on the road (or rather IN THE SKY) again in less than 48 hours.
Guess I need to make a list of all the stuff I need to do tomorrow cuz things are pretty tight O_o
