I just read that the upcoming Harry Potter movie (HBP) has been postponed to July 2009.
Er... damn?
But somehow, I think [ profile] yamasagi will be much more pissed about this than I am. He's never as much as touched any of the books, but he loves the films.
Still... I hate it when they launch in the middle of the summer - Harry Potter movies belong into the Christmas season, for crap's sake >:|

[ profile] yamasagi is currently on the way to pick up my stuff.
My stuff, as in both of the Avantasia EPs, the new 'Ray album... and that goddamned Java book *growls at Java*
Anyway, we also bought additional cards for "The Eye of Judgment" so now we can play against each other =) ... and Yama might actually have a chance to win against me. He only beat the computer once out of like, twenty games. I guess you need a lot of experience to get really good at it. Heh. Can't wait to try out my deck (I decided to get the fire element one) against his mixed bunch of cards. Yay! Role playing! We're such utter geeks! ^_^;;; *cough*
Finally, I got "The Order of the Phoenix" which was released yesterday at the price of 9 Euros (O_o). So we'll be watching that tonight (in English, thankfully. I mean, the dubs are okay, but I still prefer the real thing).
Sooo, good weekend ahead even though my cold has somewhat come back. Ah, who cares. Gonna have FUN now ^_^

PS:>/B> I haven't forgotten about writing an entry about my new laptop. And I'll get to that eventually - I just dunno when. But I will, promise!

Here you go. I first put the whole article, untranslated, with my paragraph marked in red.
Then, I cut my part, made a separate file out of it and translated it best I could.
Uh... enjoy? =)

*is listening to HP7 audio book*
Hell, that man is such a genious <3
Can't wait to get to the part containing the two German sentences *snickers*

As requested: Some comments on DH. Sorted by topic, otherwise pretty stupid and random. Beware: Severe spoilers for the whole book! )

Whoo, this turned out slightly longer than I thought. Well, who cares? =) *starts working on newspaper article, waiting for people to contradict her review* ^_~

BTW, the German title for the book has been set. It will be called "Harry Potter und die HeiligtÞmer des Todes" (it had been mistranslated before because nobody was sure whether the 'hallows' were supposed to be people or things. Well, now we know ^_~) and it will be released on October 27. Poor translator. He was only allowed to start after the book had been released. Someone's got a heckload of work ahead of him now O_o
... or: Harry Potter 7 nightly sale - Of costumes, interviews and security guards )

Also... comstume!!

Two pics. Not very good since, well.. they contain me XD )

Right now, I'm about 25% into book 7. I'm not planning on finishing it tomorrow, but we'll see where I get. Not telling anything right now, of course. But be prepared for a rather emotional review in a few days ;)

Ever heard of black cats that are afraid of wizards' hats?
Well, now you have.
*laughing fit*
Anywho, my costume's ready. DH, I'm coming~!!
Can't wait!

Me likey. A lot.
But then, I'm not very critical about the movies sicne I see them rather separated from the book. It's just an interpretation.
Of course, they cut a ton of things but this time, they made it more easy to understand than some of the previous movies. At least that's what [ profile] yamasagi told me.
One thing I love about all the movies is how they back up things from the book with visuals that weren't possible in written form. Filch nailing all the decrees to that wall (and all of them crashing down during the Weasley havoc) was just awesome =)
Luna was cute ^^
When Tonks appeared, [ profile] yamasagi and me both went "Guhhhh". OMG she's hot :D~~~~

Also, since we saw it in German... dub rambling!!
I think the dub is pretty decent, actually. From what I could take in, there weren't any severe translation fuckups (apart maybe from Ron calling "Alter". I mean, jeez, that'd sorta equal him calling him "Homey". And I thought Dudley was the only one who'd gone HipHop XDDD). Well, this wasn't The Simpsons, right? *cough COUGH*
[ profile] yamasagi once told me, after watching one of the movies in English, that he really liked the German Snape. And I can see why. I mean, the voices sure are pretty different. But someone (I think you can guess who that was ^^) once said in an interview that it's important to transfer the character of the voice to the foreign version, not so much the sound. Well, he's right. And in case of the HP movies, the German voice actors mostly do that pretty well, IMHO.

There were some very interesting trailers beforehand. "Stardust" and "The Golden Compass" both look rather interesting, though the first a bit more so than the second.
What's it with the fantasy overkill in the second half of the year?
I also saw the trailer for the Simpsons movie in German for the first time. I nearly know the English one by heart so I suppose I'm more or elss qualified to judge the translation. And I gotta say, it was very, very good.
Of course, I'm not saying it's a good thing the former translator/director died, but I'm still happy that someone else is doing the dubbing for something as important as the movie. I know, this is gonna sound horrible no matter how I put it, so I'll just go and hate myself for a moment, kthxbai.
Finally, I was delighted to discover that "Ratatouille" actually has a story. The other trailers somehow made it look like a cartoonish joke-centered sort of thing, so this kinda reinstated my faith in Pixar and my interest in the movie itself.

OMG, DH release tonight. Excitedexcitedexcited *squees*
That being said, I doubt there'll be a commotion at the bookstore tonight. It's only the English version after all ^_~

... my allergy meds decided to take a few days off.
It' almost funny how sometimes, they just don't seem to give a crap about helping me. Hey, I paid money fer ya, suckers >:|
Needless to say, I didn't feel exceptionally well.
We actually went to bed earlier because all I wanted was to lie down and fall into a coma.

When it wasn't any better the enxt morning, I crawled into the enxt pharmacy and obtained a spray.
For now, it's working surprisingly well. And it'd better stay that way, or else... >:|

Dang, I'm on a truly grandma-esque number of meds right now O_o
My nose is still raw.

Heh. We'll be seeing OotP tonight. In German, unfortunately, because our cineman apparently can't be arsed to do even OENs creening in the original language. Meh. Well, German Harry's still better than no Harry at all. Also, I'm looking forward to another intersting discussion with [ profile] yamasagi afterwards sicne he doesn't read the books and always has a bunch of (pretty interesting) questions. That, and the kebap we*ll be getting :D~~~

Also, I'm seriously thinking of following [ profile] dienacht and leaving the 'net alone until I've obtained - and read - DH.
Now that we can be pretty sure the thing has leaked onto the inatwebs, you can't really click anywhere without the fear of getting exposed to something.
Actually, I just read half a sentence that doesn't sound like the usual rubbish and could very well be a real fact from the ending of book 7. I know it's my fault, but still. Dammit. Dammit to hell!!
God, I hope it's fake, not so much because of its content but because it might be an important aspect.

I ordered one O_o
Look at the snake pattern! Isn't that kinda perfect for a Slytherin? =)
And it's a real one, too. Not some plastic thingy. Might come in handy at some point *wink wink nudge nudge*
Well, with that and my scarf, my Slytherin costume seems to be complete. Or at least as complete as it can get, considering my nearly complete lack of monetary surplus.
I have a hat, too.
Now let's hope the weather forecast people are right and it won't be searingly hot on the 20th. My costume isn't exactly airy *stares at thick, black voat, starting tot hink this whole thing might be even crazier than it seemed in the beginning* XDD
Anyway. "Deathly Hallows" midnight release, here I come!!
