On Saturday, the c't TV magazine started airing in 16:9. And I could tell before they even said anything. Thing is, if you watch a 4:3 broadcast on a 16:9 TV, everything gets stretched, so things - and more noticeable, people - look rather fat. But this time, everything looked normal, so I went "... whut?", and when they announced it, I was like "Haha, I noticed... I'm such a geek..." XD

... and I wish they'd stop making naughty jokes. It makes the thing a bit difficult to watch with other people around O_o

While I'm at it...

Slashy TMI moment from Saturday )

New layout. Since most of you probably never look at the thing, click here to see it.
It's just one of the ones you can select, didn't modify any of it. But I like it.
(BTW, the title came from an Eurobeat song, and not... what a lot of you might think ^_~)

Bought some crap at eBay:
Those. I have two pairs of these already but they don't have that hole for your thumb. Can't wait to try them, hope they fit onto my fat arms XD
Lamest t-shirt in the world. But since I always wanted one of those, I figured what the hell ^^

Also, this happened. In the opposite direction. I saw the shirt on Saturday's show and afterwards noticed he'd just bought it on eBay a few days before that. Oh my, what a werido <3

Snooping around on other peoples' eBay accounts?
Nah XDD

Yep, this one's fer real :D

And even if I didn't know for sure, I'd be totally certan after looking at this. I mean, who else would buy something that... memorable? Hell, that one is almost worse than the Indian elephants O_O
I swear to you, if I ever see him wearing that... thing... on TV... I'm gonna die.
But! Now I know his clothes size. He's a small guy, isn't he?

Oh, and BTW, here's mine, in case you're as frickin' curious as I am curious ;)

(From the show on Feb 17)
(They're talking anti-virus apps 'n' crap)
Mathias: "Never surf the 'net without a virus scanner"
Georg: "Like in real life - never without protection"
Jessy *head bursts something awful*

@.@
Well, that was unexpected indeed. I know I tend to find a lot of innuendo in their talks, but something that's actually intentional... I don't think that's happened before. Wow, that's SO cool.
... and I still don't think I'm the only person who counts an incident revolving around a reference to condoms as a historic moment. I *am* like that, aren't it? XD

Oh, and BTW: They're right. Anyone who still doesn't use any anti-virus program, consider yourself whacked. Hard. Very hard.
Hell, you don't even have to pay to get a decent one. Use Avira, for god's sake. It's better than Norton and other shit (Believe me, just because it comes free with most new computers, it doesn't mean Norton's any good. It's not!). It's got a fast search and - perhaps the most important aspect - definitions are updated quite often.
So there's no excuse to wander around the intarwebs unprotected. Right, Georg? :3

In other news: The way Eurobeat simply makes bad moods evaporate is beginning to scare me. Seriously. But in a good way *swoons*
- stuffed mum and bro into my car and had an amazing lunch at the Chinese restaurant

- formatted the HDD of mum's old comp and installed Windows XP and Microsoft Office for dad

- sat in the dining room with mum and bro, with various computers and laptops around, writing some stuff for the homepage, talking, laughing, listening to stupid music and eating chocolate

- squee'd muchly during the newest show of c't TV

- wondered why [livejournal.com profile] yamasagi wasn't on Skype, then found out that his main computer died but he manged to get it working again

- taught mum a bit of Etomite

- decided to spontaneously drive to the kebap guy and get some yum for mum and me since bro was at a friend's place

- drove through the cold, dark, rainy evening, kebap on the other seat, stereo blasting "Trinidad" and me singing along loudly

- had kebap and watched tons of random stuff

Had fun, I guess ^^

I am so going to regret this... )

Heh. I did it, I really did it XDD

“It’s a kind of war where enemies can either be emboldened or beweakened. So we have to enscare them to the point where they rebecave themselves. We must disimagine the very thinkment of misunsuccessiveness. That is what we have to bedo.”
(John Oliver)

Best. TDS. Quote. Evah. Nearly killed me, that one. Especially "rebecave". Grrrreat word ;) My inner linguist was crying with delight during that one, believe me ^___^

Last night, my homepage was moved to a new server.
That was neccessary because the hosting company changed their plans. I now get 10 GB of space and unlimited traffic for the same price as before (7.95€). Wow :D

I finally managed to download the "A bit of Fry and Laurie" pilot episode. Wow, loved that one. It's at least as good as the rest of season one. The way they do a lot of thigs exactly the same way the Pythons would've done, it makes me happy beyond any reason. And they're both such amazing actors! But I still prefer Hugh using his American accent, stupid as that may be ^_^;;;

Speaking of American!Hugh, I quite liked episode 3x12. I know, it wasn't that amazing from a writer's POV, but if you manage to shut that out and concentrate on the dramatic quality, it was really entertaining. Not to mention I thought Hugh looked especially good this time. Or maybe that was just because of the three-week detox ^_~

Today's show of c't TV (Did I ever explain the title of the mag/show? Maybe I should...) was one of the best ones ever. For some reason, Georg was smiling even more than usual. I mean, he always seems like a gentle, friendly guy but today... he was positively beaming O_O And Mathias was, too, and somehow, even when he was teasing his co-host, he still acted in a way that suggested he's much more fond of Georg than he wants us to believe.
...
Actually, the word "lovey-dovey" kept lighting up in my mind in big neon letters. I wonder why ;)
Plus, I got a real close close-up of our geeky editor in chief's hands. That totally baffled me because it's so very unusual. And to think I got to see that in 1280x1024 resolution, recorded from DVB-S right to Max's HDD - pure bliss.

Random moment from a December 2006 show of c't TV - They're talking cheap notebooks.
Mathias: "What CPU is in there?"
Georg: "It has an AMD Sempron 3500+"
Mathias (who has obviously no idea what that is): "Ah, that one..."

Hehe, dork ^_^

And just a moment ago, this happened (show of Dec 9, 2006):
Georg *waves to camera* (I swear, he never, NEVER does that!!)
Jessy *drops off chair ded*
... geez. I am so weak.
